Fresh, sumptuous food with warm and speedy service!
We had the lamb gyros on our second visit and they were fantastic—perfectly cooked and balanced with creamy tzatziki sauce and tangy feta. The pita was soft and buttery and the entire meal was proportioned just right.
The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, with swift and charming service. Prices are reasonable and reflect the quality of the food and experience.
Kid-friendliness: They have an excellent tabletop pinball soccer game that kept our 9 y.o. entertained the entire time.

Writing this seconds after finishing my meal - you have to eat here!!!! I finished every last bite of it. I’ll be back 10000022736 more times
Zeus Kusina uses their restaurant to host parties, which is of course a normal thing for a restaurant to do, but they set up speakers in their outdoor area and don't set a reasonable limit on the volume for the music being played. Whenever they host parties, anyone living or dining out in a two-block radius has to listen to music that's so loud it reverberates through our walls throughout the day. This is a regular occurrence at the restaurant, and the managers have not responded well to polite requests to keep their speakers to a reasonable noise level. The issue is not that they host parties or play music, but that they play music so loud it's impossible to escape on a partially residential block where many people live. It wouldn't hurt anyone just to keep the music to a reasonable volume.
Edit: The restaurant's response is weird. Practically every other bar/restaurant in the area plays music. Several host concerts. None of them blast their music as loudly as Zeus Kusina when they host parties. The idea that you'd have to move your business because someone asks you to keep your music to a reasonable volume is childish. Just be a decent neighbor and keep the volume to a normal level.
Really was not even good and gave me food poisoning.

I was looking for options in my OpenTable app, Greek sounded good, 1,000 points was great, and my teammates liked the vegan options. The grape leaves were so very good and I had the Acropolis salad. Oh my. Best Thing Ever! Next time I'm in Portland, we'll be looking to go back!
Finally an awesome place befitting this great location! Amazing cevapi.

I recommend Zeus Kusina on corner of Ivanhoe and Leavitt in St. Johns. The pizza is delicious and the owner is very welcoming. Bonus: they are currently showing the UEFA Euro 2024 soccer matches!

Why is this place empty??
I have driven by at least 100 times and never stopped, turned off by the pizza place next door and assuming that the food would be as mediocre. I was so wrong.
Everything is fresh, including the pita bread, which was honestly some of the best pita I've ever had. Lamb gyro is packed full of meat and flavors - never again will I have another anemic two strip o meat gyro. Souvlaki was bursting with flavors - peppers, kalmatas, feta.
RUN don't walk here for delicious Greek food.

The food is delicious. Not exactly Greek, but definitely Mediterranean. The server was very nice. It's quite casual. I had the whole red snapper which was good but a tad bland. The mixed appetizer of hummus, eggplant, tatzeki, was excellent. The lamb chops were well done but very good though I prefer them on the rarer side. The shawarma dish was great but again, a bit different. I'd love to come here again. It was delicious and different.
