Four of us stopped for lunch this passed Friday and we were all impressed with the chowder bowls and fish and chips. The beer I ordered was super cold in a frosty mug and was awesome. Service and atmosphere was fantastic. We will be back next time we are at Winchester Bay for sure.

Above all, our server was on top of his game. The seating was dated and a bit shabby. The fish and chips were a little disappointing, not fully battered, mostly panned fried. Truly a step back from where this restaurant use to be.

Was in Coos Bay visiting an aunt, and she suggested that we come here. Walked and got seated immediately. I was having a difficult time deciding and asked the waiter what my chances were getting fried prawns and fried oysters together. He told me there was a really good chance. I stated that was what I wanted. I was very happy with my meal and was glad that they made it happen. Loved sitting next to the side closest to the water. This was another little coastal town meal that I had on my trip from Alabama. If you blink, you will miss Griff's, but I am glad that my aunt knew about it and we had the chance to eat there.

Ordered the steak and prawns with a cup of clam chowder on the side. It was overpriced but I wanted something nice to enjoy while looking at the water water. Remember the vending machines you put your quarter in and twist and out pops a bouncy ball that could reach the moon if you bounced it hard enough? That's what my prawns reminded me of. Steak was cold and flavorless. I took 2 bites of my clam chowder and left it. I don't even know how they can call that clam chowder. Total waste of money. Never again!

Older restaurant. Great food, locally sourced. Attentive friendly server.

One of the best fish and chips on the Oregon Coast. Melts in your mouth.

We are here a few weeks ago. This is a quaint restaurant with a view of the bay! Our server was super friendly and my wife and I both enjoyed the food. I got the ahi tuna steak and it was great.

I have it a 4 because the wait staff was super friendly. Absolutely enjoyed that experience, but the menu was minimal and mostly fried... I was really hoping to find some good grilled options that being said I did have grilled scallops and they were good.
I have alpha gal syndrome so luckily I was able to eat without getting sick. That's a huge bonus. So I would recommend in that regard. Old school vibe inside not updated but if you're looking for that experience that's okay. They didn't have crab as it was out of season I guess, and it sounds like most of the stuff that's brought in is not local?Except she did say the scallops were.

Well quite disappointing. Stopped in for lunch. Not very busy, only saw 4 others inside. Ordered oysters, They were huge & warm, served out of their shell on a platter made for oysters i suppose. I asked for crackers, they were all cracked, nothing to put an oyster on. When server came back around finally, I asked for more crackers as these were crumbled-look at picture! . She seemed put out. I had one more oyster (total 2 of 6, h I couldn't stomach anymore as they were room temp which i was concerned). Hubby had a fish sandwich which he said was good. So that's the only positive. When server finally came back around, she asked if I wanted a box, I told her no that these were too warm. She asked if we were ready for the check. That was that! Would not recommend. It was after 2pm in afternoon so it was not crowded. Terrible service & lacked concern.

Ordered the calamari steak and got 3 what looked like tiny fish sticks with no flavor, 3 piece fish and chips not battered but a cornmeal rub and dry, coleslaw was bland and dry, lastly we ordered the clam chowder and seriously just potatoes and found no clams, it was more like a gravy. Stingy on the tartar sauce with a tiny container and if you want more it cost extra. I think someone is rating them way too high, wish they had honest reviews I would have went somewhere else.

The food was fantastic. We had the scallops as an appetizer and they were so sweet and tender. Our entree was the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. The chowder was so flavorful with lots of clams. The bread top was grilled in garlic butter. Delicious. All that and with a view of the setting sun over the water. Great experience for a great price with fast, friendly service. We were so delighted! Thank you.
