I have had two dinners and a breakfast this weekend at the Capital City Grill. I would highly recommend it if you live or are visiting Salem, Oregon. Delicious food very good service.

I wanted to share my experience at Capitol City Grill at Holiday Inn, a restaurant that seemed promising. I have a non-verbal autistic child, and sometimes it can be challenging to make her understand certain things. A few days ago, we went there to dine in. My child was not in the mood to wear shoes, so she took them off as soon as she sat on the chair with her legs folded.

The waitress informed us that her manager had said they would not serve us until she wore her shoes. We explained that our child did not want to wear her shoes at that moment, but she was sitting with her legs folded and would not put her bare feet on the floor. Despite explaining that she is autistic and currently having a difficult time, they only served us water and said that was all they could do unless she wore her shoes.
They didn't directly ask us to leave, but their actions made it clear that we should. This experience broke my heart. If my child has special needs and behaves differently, do we as parents not have the right to dine in any restaurant? I have dined at the best restaurants in Portland and have never encountered such a response. The manager did not even bother to come over, nor did the waitress apologize for their behavior. I am truly shocked by how cold-hearted and impolite people have become.

Food sucks.
Discriminatory against people with disabilities. Dine elsewhere.

DISGUSTING, absolutely atrocious behavior has been presented by this staff. The manager and other servers are blatantly rude, and clearly have issues with how they treat disabled individuals. I will never set foot in this establishment, and I recommend you never do either. I rarely leave bad reviews, and will only do it when I think it's important that others don't get treated terribly.

Service was not great and they didn’t accept a paper ID that if they opened the paper you can see it’s straight from the DMV and had just been bought recently. Very disappointing for a birthday well over 21 years of age.

Worst steak I have ever had. It was the ribeye and it was so tough and full of gristle you couldn’t even chew it. My spouse had the fettuccine and it had an awful sour taste to the noodles. We told the manager and she said that it was just how that cut of meat is! Your best is shoe leather tough and non edible? Zero attempt to care or try to make it right. Do t waste your money or time here as McDonald’s is better than this places best. Zero stars would be an upgrade.

I ordered a drink, a ribeye, a side salad, and cream brulee. My steak was good, the brocolii undercooked (and I don't mean al dente), the dressing was watery, and my creme brulee was burnt not carmelized. My drink came without the customary sugar-rimmed glass and when I told the bartender, he didn't fix it even though it would have been easy for him to do so without making another drink. The prices were not in line with the attention my drink and meal were given by the staff. I was dissapointed.

Came in at 5pm first dinner. No one in restaurant. Took 20 minutes for a stir fry and pasta dish. Cost $50. Don't think we'll be back.

Stayed and ate breakfast the next morning. Had a fabulous experience! Waiter was amazing (Hector), always eager to help and the refills on coffee were always there. Food was also great! 100% better than any breakfast house around. Would definitely stop by just to eat.

We happened to be staying at the Holiday Inn where this restaurant/lounge is located. Turned out to be a nice place for a bite. Limited menu had some tasty items that are nicely done. Place is immaculate and pleasantly decorated. Full bar has a good wine list and several world class microbrews on tap. Really hit the spot after a day on the road. Service is excellent.

Cocktails are amazing. The food however was bland. My fajitas were burnt and my $4 fountain drink had zero

Amazing dinner! I was extremely surprised with the quality and taste of their Mongolian stir Fry with steak! Vegetables were cooked perfectly and the sweet spicy sauce set it off! Definitely would have dinner here again. Beautiful, clean and upscale dining experience. Servers are friendly and professional. Nice dining experience

Great service, yummy food. We had breakfast which was included with the room price and was a la carta (not like the regular American breakfast included in the ‘Express’ version of the hotel). All waitress were extremely friendly, they even switched the tv to cartoons for the kiddos. We also had dinner, the kids burger is huge, more like a regular size burger, chicken tenders great, quesadilla, Caesar’s salsa, street tacos, all really good. Highly recommended!
