Christo's Pizzeria & Lounge

This is our favorite restaurant in Salem. The food is fantastic, the service is friendly, and they have live jazz. What’s not to love?

Went to this place at 530 and could not get a seat. Told our party of four it would be an hour wait. The place was empty. If you don’t open at five don’t say so. In any event it is still good. I have been there a few time since and they have a new reservation system that works well. Changed review.

We arrived and were seated right away. Atmosphere is pleasant but quite loud. Food was very good with the exception of a Penne pasta. The artichokes in it were very tough and a lot of fibrous leaves. The server even commented on it. Seemed under staffed, we had to ask for another round of drinks and more water. No one checked on us throughout the meal. For premium prices I expect better service. It took along time to get our food. We were there almost 2 1/2 hours. Overall it was an incredibly average experience.

We have been to this restaurant twice. Both times were a disaster. 1st time the chef quit in the middle of his shift & we never got our dinner. We went there again the other night , ordered food & drinks. Our food finally arrived 2 hours later. The waitress's were sweet, until we questioned the food being late. They need to stick with to go pizza only. Stay out of the restaurant business

We had reservations for 6:30, we did not get our drinks for half an hour. We did not get our food for over an hour and a half. (Yes, a hour and a half) The food was cold, average and not delicious. And they automatically added a gratuity which they did not deserve!! It was a very disappointing experience, therefore we will never go back!!!

We love the pizza and Caesar salad at Cristo’s. It has become our Friday night pizza night spot since moving to Salem. The restaurant is quite loud and we have found that if we request the lounge is a little more bearable. Sometimes the service can be slow, depending on your server. Larger groups make it more difficult so we find it’s better to go with a smaller party.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Me and my boyfriend went in at 8:04 so excited to try this place for the first time. Once we were at the reception area we saw 2 women which none greeted us, then we saw 2 more then none of them greeted us again. I then asked “are no customers greeted here?” And the girl replied oh have you not been greeted. We have been standing there for more than 5 minutes and no one had said “we will be right with you” ANYTHING? I’m sad to say I will not be coming back.

My friend and I both had veal. She has the parmagan and I had the piccata. The veal on both dishes were way too thick. Veal needs to be pounded, this was not. My piccata should've been called rosemary veal. Very overpowering with the rosemary. Both beal dishes were tough, almost too tough to eat.
The service: Our server was not personable/friendly at all. I asked for utensils, didn't get them. I took some from another table. It took almost 15 minutes to have our server bring salt and pepper to the table when asked. The coffee was good, though, but the coffee alone will not bring me back.

I am originally from New Jersey. This was the best Pizza (Tomato Pie) that I have had since NJ. Every time I am in Salem I go there with my Lady, Christine.

This is the hottest building I've ever been in. It is at least 90degrees in here. It could have the best food in the world but the heat alone is a reason to never come back. It is summer, 80+ degrees outside and it is significantly hotter inside. Absolutely miserable experience. Post and advertise when you turn on your AC and I'll come back
