Corner Pocket Bar and Grill

Went there when I first moved to Salem when I was trying to find a bar I liked. The bartender was very understanding to me being new to the bar scene and was great with recommendations, but I felt a little judged for not knowing what was going on. The KJ on the karoke night was visibly (and at times audibly) judgmental of certain songs and seemed to let some people go several times before others instead of following an actual rotation. Pool tables are way too close together and too close to some of the tables, which made risk of getting hit with pool sticks a very high possibility. The entire vibe felt very clique-y for the cool and popular people, and it strongly felt like if you weren't a part of that clique that you weren't wanted there. My whole group agreed on the vibe not being very welcoming, and most of the staff seeming judgmental. At least some of them seemed willing to hide that judgement though. Never going back where I'm not welcome and especially not for Karaoke.

One of the best bars in town hands down. Four pool tables, fun crowds, busy weekends. Great place for karaoke! I would know I am the KJ! 😉

Atmosphere is great, but it's really crowded. If you like singing karaoke and want to get more than one song in, this isn't the place.

This is a place where a person can drink in peace. I give The Corner Pocket my highest recommendation.

The newer female karaoke dj on Saturday is terrible. She has an attitude and is clearly biased and allows her friends to do back to back 10 minute songs while telling others they have to be mixed up in the cue to “give everyone a chance”.

Great homemade potatoes obrian.

This bar is 3 minutes from my house and satisfied my cravings for a crispy chicken sandwich and some mozzarella sticks. Was pleasantly surprised to see there were 8 sticks instead of 6. Not sure if they changed that on the menu and it wasn’t updated yet but it was still nice to see. Food was ready in 15 minutes as the bartender said. Everything was fresh and delicious. Will be back with friends to grab a drink when I’m not in sweats and crocs.

Ruben egg rolls are one of a kind... pool tables are great (good felt), and cue's are straight. Bartenders are kind and they got video poker if thats what your in too. However my truffle shuffle will give you more entertainment and a story too boot, for the same price as VP. just sayin 🫡😉

Bartenders were great but the KJ “Stevie Dreams” definitely plays favorites

Very disappointed in this place. I’ve been coming here regularly for a long time with little to no issues but this last time the female bartender got ridiculous and the friends of the bartender that were trying to start a fight. It was quite a mob mentality. Bartender allowed boyfriend of a friend to threaten me. This so-called firefighter got in my face and threatened me and the staff refused to do anything about it. For his safety I Had to take pictures of the so-called firefighter and make a police report. I will be going back to talk to the manager and report them to the state. Will also be reporting him to his fire chief.

Absolutely love the food here. Drinks are stiff. Waitstaff is friendly. Lots of pool tables. They also have game nights.

Leslie is a sweetheart and makes the best drinks! the happy hour menu is extremely affordable and the wings are fire! Go enjoy the best bar in town!
