It's 6:42pm on 20-march-25. I just moved cross country about two weeks ago. I love my new home in Salem Oregon. I was really excited to see that there is a dairy Queen within walking distance. I have shopped at the wheeler dealer store 4 times, I have eaten at Joann(the place with the car on the sign) at least 6 times. Every time I'm in the area I look to see if the dairy Queen is open. I started to think that the dairy Queen may have been permanently shut down because it's never open. Today was the first time that I saw it open. So I headed in for the free cone day(no sign about free cone day, but heard about it from social media). I went in the store with my certified service animal who was wearing his vest(that very clearly stated he was a service animal) at the time. A brunette hair woman told us we had to leave. I told her he was a service animal and pointed to his vest. she said she didn't care that he was a service animal we still had to leave. As I left the store in tears several other customers asked why I was crying. I openly told them what this woman had done. I ended up throwing out the free icecream cone because I couldn't ride my adult tricycle in the rain and hold the ice cream cone at the same time. I went across the parking lot to a Baskin Robbins where I ordered a large $7 drink and they were happy to allow us to sit in their dining room.

Wheelchair accessibility: Not kind to anyone with a disability. Do not recommend.

Last year unfortunately suffered gunshot wound , & dealt with internal serious injuries/ recovery issues.. I ended up swinging by this Dairy Queen in particular . The day was “FREE CONE DAY” I believe it’s called. I explained my situation to the young girl on drive through . ( I was in pain from leaving therapy ) young girl refused to give me a free cone . I was shocked to the carelessness from DAIRY QUEEN . It’s sad, how terribly painful & cruel some people can be . In disbelief I didn’t argue , I payed for the ice cream & off I went … very SADDENING witnessing young generations views … MANAGER didn’t seem to care either …. Be better folks

Very unprofessional I picked up an order from here. There was no one at the counter the place was empty it wasn't packed so it wasn't busy I saw the girls in the corner there and i said excuse me and asked for my order and one of the girls there was talking smack about me to the other employees I heard her say I just came up to the counter and said excuse me, she was trying to talk bad about me to the other employees. That is very rude I'm working doing my job picking up order I don't need to be disrespected just for asking for my order. It was only two items and they weren't even bagged yet and the place was empty I didn't see anyone at the counter so I said excuse me to get her attention and ask for my order that is my job I'm working that is disrespectful for her to talk about me I'm a grown woman and I'm working

Curly hair brunette with glasses was quite rude to me and my little brother, said in a snappy tone “you can’t just sit here if you’re not going to order” when we were sat down looking at coupons and the menu to make a large order for our family. I responded “don’t worry we’re ordering thanks” and she continued saying something I didn’t hear as she walked to the back. Made it take longer to order faster for her liking as I was quite offended by her tone. Very unnecessary attitude. + Chicken tenders were dry. Unprofessional customer service, not planning on coming back.

Went to the drive thru at 6pm January 25, 2025. Ordered two blizzards and a cheeseburger. Handed the blizzards and had to ask for the burger. Told to go park in the waiting spot so they could “make fresh beef” took about 10 minutes for one single cheeseburger. Grabbed it from the bag, it was COLD. Stuck my finger into it to feel the meat, and that was COLD. Who knows how long that was sitting out. Threw it away. I’m not getting food poisoning from an unsafe DQ Burger.

This location is absolutely ridiculous. My wife went down there to go pick up food that I had ordered online. They refused to give it to her until they saw a screen showing that the order was purchased before. I could send her a screenshot of hmm, the receipt they closed. And ignored her all before the time. They actually closed at 8 o'clock. So my son didn't get me dinner from there. They sat there and snickered and laughed at my wife through the window, and as of 11:30 this morning, they still have my money for food that we never received. Most unprofessional staff I've ever heard of or come across absolutely freaking ridiculous. Now they won't answer their phone so I can try and figure out how to get my money back. That was $20. I guess Dairy Queen dot for free. Or not free, just being rude. I do Uber Eats. I've picked up orders from there. And they've never asked me to see my screen or receive it for the customer.I just told him the name, and they picked it up. This used to be a franchise or company that actually cared about their customers.
Sad that it's fallen this far to where people will laugh at their customers. While trying to get their food and then close early and leave them sitting at the driveway through window.

Rude worker at the window rolled her eyes at me. Didn’t talk not even to say “thank you” or “have a good evening”. Went in to speak to a supervisor and she was the supervisor. Then noticed my sundae was about half the size it should have been. Paid just over $4.00 for about $.50 of product. Took a picture of it because it was so disgraceful.

Workers are always rude AND SLOW. They never greet at the door and just stare at me and continue to gossip when I come up to get my order. They ALWAYS forget parts of my to-go order and the food is just average and bland. I have had too many bad interactions at this location. I would not recommend to even my worst enemy. Definitely my last time ordering at this location.

Zero Sell

They made us wait almost 15 minutes for the burgers while we had the ice cream they gave us melt before we got the burgers. They still put cheese on my burger even I asked for no cheese because I can't have it. They should've given everything in the order at once, because it's just stupid to make people wait for the other half of their order while everything else is melting.
