Although the shortcake is delicious, the customer service is lacking. I was very disappointed Saturday 6/1 to hear that my 2 daughters and our grandkids were turned away after waiting in line from 4:30 until 5 to only have one of the workers move the sign ahead 6 customers and then tell everyone who is NOW behind the sign that they will not be served. My girls and gbabies were well within the sign when the workers asked them if the sign was there the whole time. Shame on you EZ...read full review
I went to the shortcake stand with my family yesterday. We got in line at 4:30. We made it to the not guaranteed sign in the line at 5pm, a worker asked us if the sign was there the whole time, we replied yes. She moved the sign up about 6 more customers and told us we won’t be served since it’s 5pm but we can still go in the store to purchase the items to make our own shortcake. Very bad customer service. E.Z Orchards Shortcake Stand is a charming destination that offers a delightful experience for everyone. Upon entering, customers are greeted by the enticing sight and aroma of freshly baked donuts, including velvet and apple cider flavors, which many consider the best they’ve ever had. The store features a wide selection of local and specialty products, such as flavored honeys, wines, and fresh produce, which is very reasonably priced, especially for being mostly locally grown. The friendly and knowledgeable staff provide excellent customer service. While prices may be higher, the quality and specialty of the products justify the cost.
The stand is particularly famous for its delicious desserts, especially the large peach and strawberry shortcakes, which are priced at $7 each and offer great value for the amount of food. Customers can choose between angel food cake or biscuit for their shortcakes, and the strawberries are fresh from the field. These desserts are served with homemade ice cream and what seems to be homemade whipped cream.
E.Z Orchards also provides a fun pumpkin patch experience, and there is a grassy area for kids to play. Although the maze could be improved, families enjoy the outdoor space and the nearby farmer's market, where they can find sweet and juicy produce. The location serves as a great stop for those heading to nearby attractions, making it a perfect treat after activities like go-kart racing. The store gets busy, but the line usually moves fast, and the atmosphere is lively and accommodating, with plenty of seating and a kids' playground.
