My wife and I dropped in last minute since the restaurant we’re were in just before decided they were going to serve the alcohol customers and not the eating ones. The food for delicious and our server was very kind. Thanks, we’ll be back.

My husband and I had to leave a restaurant that is close to here because of poor service and were ecstatic to have such incredible last minute courtesy shown towards us, excellent food made exactly to our specifications that we asked for and the food was promptly delivered as well! I will come back here next time we are in Salem. 🥰

First time in and we were seated immediately upon entering which felt like a great start but sadly we waited 15 minutes before I went to the front counter to grab menus for us to look over as other tables were being seated with menus and silverware which we still had not received. We then waited 10 more minutes before a server came with waters to take our orders. I stated we would like to be out in about 45 minutes (noting it had already been close to a half hour) so we could make our show on time. Staff checked that we could get sushi and we ordered immediately. I watched other tables seated after us receive their food (including sushi) and provided higher customer service from their wait staff compared to what we were receiving from our server. It was super frustrating to say the least when our chef special roll arrived without the modification that was requested for a food allergy. Our server took it back immediately but there was no rush placed on it being remade or let alone checking back with us, so we did not get to enjoy and when our bill was brought out it was still showing we had purchased it when we never got it and canceled it due to our time constraint . To be seated for 1.5 hours in the restaurant it was super disappointing to only get 2 sushi rolls and a cucumber salad in that amount of time. The sushi was fantastic but I would not come here with time constraints and be willing to flag down some staff members to have your needs met. I hope to go back to find that this was just an off night.

A fantastic experience! The lovely person with the incredible purple hair went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The sushi chefs honor the craft of traditional sushi. Also can we talk about how ADORABLE all of the decor is? It’s a shame I waited this long to visit. This is one of Salem’s treasures and absolutely the very best sushi in the area.

This is one of my favorite lunch spots in town. I normally get the teriyaki chicken. That is ALWAYS a great choice for lunch. This time I tried their bento box and was pleasantly surprised. It was quality food and not just slapped together. There was more than enough food as well! There is always plenty of seating when I come at the lunch hour. The menu isn’t super robust but that just means your food comes out that much quicker. Everything is high quality and fresh! Parking can be a little tricky but that is downtown as a whole.

Unfortunate Redshirt
The other reviews suggest maybe we went on an off day. We were given a water cup that still had lipstick on it. The tobiko nigiri had a crawling gnat in it. The nigiri was replaced swiftly. The tempura veggies were tasty, but I would suggest they cut the giant pieces in half. That way there are more than one piece of each veggies to share and isn't too big to eat.
Incredible food served with swift efficient service. The owner is extremely friendly and you cam watch him make your order! The atmosphere is relaxed and the food quality is very high. My husband and I have been going for a while now and each time is such a lovely experience. The pearl sake is a great pairing with any sushi order.

Got the salmon bento box, Vegas roll. It was some of the best salmon and sushi I've had. The sweet sauce they add onto the roll is phenomenal. The staff and atmosphere is amazing as well
