Golden Crown Restaurant is a welcoming and fun spot, both inside and out. The staff, including May and her son Tony, is friendly and accommodating, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. Customers appreciate the service, with GG being a great help over the phone and in person. The food remains a highlight, with a variety of dishes to choose from, including the popular lunch special and the best war wonton soup, which is enough to share and enjoy leftovers. The egg flower soup, BBQ pork, sweet and sour chicken, and shrimp are all standouts, with the egg flower soup being a rich and flavorful favorite. Golden Crown is one of the few restaurants in town that offers Chow Fun, and it is wonderful. The restaurant also provides a convenient take-out option, with the broth packaged separately to keep the veggies and wontons fresh. The restaurant has been cleaned up under new ownership, making it much better since the pandemic affected downtown Salem. Overall, Golden Crown Restaurant is a great choice for a quick and delicious meal, whether eating in or taking out.
