On Saturday 12/13/25 11:00am we had stopped at your west Salem establishment, we were waiting out front, when the gal unlocked the door and walked away if it were me I would have at least had opened the door and welcomed you in. She took our order and was not very friendly seemed as if she was annoyed. Just would be nice to make that extra effort to be a little more friendlier.

Three times in a row on different days they have been out of kalua pig. I don't understand how you can have 6 items and be out of one of them, hours before you close..

Rolled up to the lobby at 8:30 today The doors were locked in the open sign was on. When I tried to pull on the door three people inside ignored me and started laughing. Then I called and I could see the boy that was working their pick up the phone he handed it to a girl who answered it and told me that they were in fact open. When I went to the drive-thru I waited for 7 minutes before anyone acknowledged me only after I called the store again to let them know that I was in the drive-thru. When I got my food two sauces were open and thrown in my bag all over everything the entire box and bag were completely sticky I couldn't even manage to get it out. Then it started to leak out of the bag all over my car as well as my clothes. This is the most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered. Whoever is in charge or owns this establishment needs to reevaluate their managers and staff. Would my review is responded to I'm not interested in hearing apologies about how you're happy that I left to review but we're not happy with my experience you need to fire all those people in there and start from the ground up. The dude with the long blonde hair that plated my food was washing the dishes in Plainview of the drive-up window before he went over there and put my food into the styrofoam without washing his hands. Also he was griping about how he had just worked 14 hours without a lunch break. I really used to like Hawaiian time but the conditions are poor and I think it's probably unsanitary I wasted my money and had to throw my food away as I was afraid the dishwater would make me sick.

The last two times I've gone there, they are completely out of Kalua pork ...not sure I want to bother anymore.

I like the Huli Huli chicken, but I’m not a fan of the pork. It tastes like it has a little bit of smoked flavor in it without much other flavoring. Service is pretty quick because they’re not very busy, but the customer service is a little bit odd. For example, if I tell them, I want a Huli Huli Alii, Which is the way they label the meal, they will repeat back so you want a large chicken? That is kind of an odd marketing thing. The restaurant kind of gives the feel of being a little under clean or under kept. In general, I have a mixed feeling, I really like the Huli Huli Chicken And I have had it multiple times, it is not as good as Local Boyz was in Corvallis, but they have been closed for years now. So it is the best Hawaiian food I have found in this area. Definitely a lot of room for improvement.

I went there for lunch on May 14, 2025 and the doors were locked. A worker came to the door and stated that the lobby was not open. They had limited staff and that there were only a few selections of what could be ordered. I asked the worker why and she said most all of the cooks quit. She did say that they had some items but I would need to use the drive through. This is the Hawaiian Time in West Salem. I went to the other Hawaiian Time on Mission street near the airport and close to the same issues were present there.

5 out of the last 5 times we've gone we haven't gotten the extra sauce we paid for. This last time we asked for no Mac, they usually give extra rice, but no, they just left the Mac spot completely empty and there was only maybe 5 bites of rice in our three regulars each. We will not be going back. Needs management to monitor the food before it goes out to customers.
