Restaurant side is very nice, but talking about the bar side here: Best Chinese lounge in the city. Awesome all-day drink prices: $2.50 domestic / $4 craft taps with good selection. Dinner combos are $12-15. (All as of March 2024.) High quality food -- some of the best classic Chinese food I've ever had. Nice bartenders. Lots of parking. Classic rock on the radio. No karaoke. One big TV, two smaller ones. Carpeted floor, and Chinese lanterns help make it pretty cozy. Free pool Sun-Tues. Really, nothing not to love.

Hong Kong House is the best Chinese restaurant I've eaten at in Oregon. Personable staff. Fantastic food—can't go wrong with their menu. Big portions (one entree feeds two, but you'll want more). Tranquil vibe for sit-down service. Fast service for pick-up.

This is the best Hot & Sour Soup I have ever had. I didn’t even have to add soy sauce to modify taste. They did it right from the get go. Don’t miss out on this soup ?❣️Plus reasonably priced to guarantee a returning satisfied customer.

Excellent service. food came out in good timing and was met with a smile. Sweet pork was not dry like most places. and amazing prices. Front lady is super sweet and super kind. Seem to be running the whole thing. Only 3 people there and it was ran super amazing. Portion sizes are huge so we took like 3 boxes of food home.

I love the Kong!I haven't been in the restaurant itself, but the lounge is really neat to eat at and hang out. Food is always excellent and very affordable without tasting cheap. Can watch sports games, gamble, enjoy some drinks they have a pool table and most importantly of all my lifetime favorite bartender Amber works behinds the bar. She a way cool, super funny and spicy little number you can't help but love.Drinks are fairly priced as well and they pour them nicely ?I stop in every chance I can. Never disappointed!Dietary restrictions: The menu does show what is spicy, gluten free and I belive even vegetarian optionsParking: I think there are a total for 20 parking spots

I’ve been here a few times. I’d never busy. When you go in there is no one around. They need a sign that says to seat yourself. We usually come in and wait awhile until someone comes out from the back or just seat ourselves. The tea is good, not hot but drinkable. The food is ok not savory. The plates are very large so there is a lot of waste. The employees are very nice and happy to help you. The restaurant itself appears to be very outdated, looks to still have COVID social distancing tape on the floor and plastic as soon as you walk in. It also is dusty and doesn’t give off a clean appearance. When I was in last the table appeared clean but the seat was not. The salt was low and I had to hit it on the table to break it up. The soda was a bit weird tasting. I do really enjoy coming here to hangout to grab something fast to eat. I feel comfortable and like I can be myself. I don’t however think it is better than other Chinese restaurants near by.

Tried this for the first time last week because we have read several reviews and social media posts stating that Hong Kong House has some amazing Chinese cuisine and great service, so naturally we had to give it a shot and compare to a few others we've been to recently. We got the lunch specials for the Egg Foo Young and General Tso's Chicken, along with Pork Shao Mai and Shrimp Dumplings off their Dim Sum menu.Presentation was phenomenal. Everything was piping hot - almost too hot to eat, smelled great and tasted fantastic too. Wait time for the food was about 12 minutes from order to table, which for this level of quality and for the price? You can't beat it.Our total ticket for all this food was about $30 which is crazy low for the quality and quantity of food they gave us. This is the defacto place for Chinese cuisine in town, and we highly recommend this.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We have spent most of our visits in the lounge side. Bartenders are wonderful, food in fantastic and they give people a place to go on Christmas Day/Night. It's a really comfortable place. Bathrooms could be better.

Food is always on point. The kung pao chicken is exceptional. They are fast and efficient. The prices are very fair, considering the insane inflation and ridiculous price of eating out now. This is my go to place in salem for Chinese food.

There was a place in Redmond Oregon called Stockton's. It was ran by Ernie Stockton from the 1930's until his death after a very long life. I grew up eating his Chinese food. When he passed, the food was never the same made by the family that took Stockton's over. Eventually it closed up. I never thought I would ever taste that true authentic Chinese food again. None of the other Chinese restaurants ever compared to Ernie's food.We have passed by this place numerous. But never stopped to eat here. Today we finally did. I was very sad that I had only ever drove by this place all these years. I wished I had stopped here years ago. The very first bite I took, with the slight hint of Chinese 5 Spice, took me back to Stockton's all over again. It was as though I was young again and eating Ernie's food. My search is over. I have found my Chinese restaurant. I will be back...over and over again.By the way. I noted some of the negative reviews were because they saw someone looking drunk in the bar. I suggestion to the people having a problem seeing someone drunk? Simply stay out of bars. Problem solved. And to the person that complained that he got overserved drinks. If you don't know your limit, you best get help rather than laying the blame on someone else. They didn't ruin your life...you did.Vegetarian options: I am not a vegetarian but there were meatless items on the menu.
