Like eating out of a garbage can. Then when I complained the manager raised his voice and spoke over me while turning away and confiding in my wife.

The food came fast and the people are nice but the bags do not have nearly enough juice in them. It was more like a little bit of paist at the bottom. With more butter and liquid to dip it would be better. You also have to pay extra if you want an egg, sausage and or corn added. Not worth the price tag.
Good food at decent prices.
Feel the plane can use a makeover.
Airways gray service.

Very nice local restaurant with history in Salem. I was very pleased with my last visit. Our waiter was polite, but to the point and didn't try to push drinks or apps. The food was good and came out quickly. They seem to have settled into being a single location restaurant nicely.

Got our food done of it was barely warm and then we were pretty much forgotten. Then when we went to pay we had shown our server a coupon when we ordered and it wasn't taken off. Our server went to correct the problem but had to have a manager do it and then their system went down. Seemed odd to us after about 15 minutes it finally was corrected but with some controversy. Had to get more information a phone and email which they already had the email because it was an offer through the email. Probably won't go back anytime soon as it was such a headache and a mistake on their part with not much of an apology. They weren't very busy at the time we were there.
We had an excellent dinner here. The fries were light and crispy with a savory flavor, but not too salty. Fried fish was crispy and the bacon avocado burger was wonderful. The service was fast and friendly. Prices aren't unreasonable for seafood. Altogether great experience.

First time here. I didn't take photos of the food but it had a good visual appearance. The starter salad was very good. I had the alfredo with shrimp and clams. My friend had the halibut fish and chip platter. Got a taste and it was very good. Service was very slow. Never got checked on if our food was good or if we needed anything else.

It was our 28th wedding anniversary. I really thought this would be a good place to go to We love fish and any kind of seafood. The food was so greasy and the potato skins you could tell were baked at least a few days ago. They were gross. This was supposed to be a special night.
You can’t go back and get that day back. They don’t put any kind of spoons at all on the table. And yet they hand you a bowl of coleslaw that’s very liquidy. It was all just gross gross.!!!
Yeah, the service was so bad!! So disappointed

This was a $200 + tip meal:
My family had never been to McGrath's. We chose to visit McGrath's in Salem, Oregon where we reside.
We have been planning for months to go. My brother came down New Year's day from Washington state. My spouse, my brother, his wife, and I all went out for New Year's Day dinner at this restaurant. The menu looked very good online.
We waited over an hour to be served. That was okay. It was New Year's day 5 pm evening right? There weren't a lot of people. Though our waitress came fairly swiftly, it was an hour to an hour and a half for dinner to be served.
The restaurant was really cute.
My spouse knew something was wrong when having the crab stuffed mushrooms they just didn't taste right. We had no desire to mention it to our waitress or the manager however because it could have been a fluke. The salads were very good. Excellent quality greens with beautiful flavor.
We all ordered our food. My spouse had the seafood saute... What came was soaked literally in about a half inch of grease all over the plate. The rice pilaf served with it was full of very hard rice. The same happened with my brother. My brother ordered the halibut with rice pilaf. The halibut was so thin. It was like being served an inexpensive piece of cod.
Halibut is usually nice and thick. For the price paid, you would think there would be a nice serving of halibut. My brother ate his and left his rice pilaf because of all the hard kernels. So I never got to take a photo of his meal.
I never order meatloaf but decided to that evening. When it came it was very burnt everywhere and extremely dry. My spouse and I were unable to eat our food. We are not complainers. This was so far out of the ordinary for us. We had to say something however, as this was just way over the top. Unacceptable. We told our waitress and she understood, was very kind, and got the manager. The manager refunded the meal of my spouse and myself.
The other two we paid for even though they were far less than what they should have been. We were appreciative that at least two were refunded. We would have preferred to just have a beautiful meal together. My family was looking so forward to a very nice seafood meal .The bill was hefty even after refunding the two meals. We had ordered hors d'oeuvres of course. The coconut shrimp felt like jelly in the mouths of those who ate it. I do not eat shrimp so did not partake.
The experience was so disagreeable with the food, that we will never ever be back.
This was over a $200 bill with tip.

This place is a joke. No wonder they have filed bankruptcy. Argue with management about service, I treat my dog better then these people treat me.

We’ve been coming here for years whenever we visit family in the area, so this experience was especially disappointing. We had a 6:00 pm reservation and were seated right away. It did take a while for our server to come over initially, but once she did, we ordered food and drinks promptly.
Unfortunately, our food didn’t arrive until about 7:25 pm. I’m generally very understanding about wait times, but the restaurant was not busy—there were no tables occupied near us in our section—so the delay was frustrating.
When the food finally arrived, my father-in-law’s jambalaya, which he had been really looking forward to and has enjoyed here in the past, was extremely oily and overly peppery to the point of being inedible. His beer was also served warm. We mentioned this to our server, and while she did remove the jambalaya from the bill, we were still charged for the side salad that originally came with the dish (which she pointed out while presenting). While this may seem minor, given the long wait and overall experience, it felt unnecessarily rigid and added to our disappointment.
We’ve always had positive experiences here in the past, which is why this visit stood out in a negative way. We hope this feedback is helpful, as we’d love to see the level of service and food quality return to what we’ve come to expect.
