My husband and I swung by on our way home from our honeymoon, in the mood for some yummy ice cream as a last celebration before we got back home and work and whatnot.
What an amazing place! The ice cream was delicious, the owner was super nice and funny, and the space itself was awesome. It was very clear that the driving force for the ice cream shop was to be a fun, safe space for teens to hang out and enjoy themselves. The owner told us how he's setting up a full sound studio in the lower level of the building, and with the menagerie of decor and games and toys in the main level I can definitely see it as an amazing place to chill as a teen. I would have been there all the time if it had been in my hometown when I was a teenager. I hope it does well! I can't wait to visit again when we're back in the area!
We asked for an ice cream cake for my daughter's birthday and the gentlemen created a custom creation on the fly that was delicious! Friendly, very cool atmosphere.
The choco tacos are superb.
Definitely check this place out.
Such a hidden gem!
I went in for the first time yesterday with a couple friends, because grown-ups need ice cream too. Zach was immediately warm and funny. He gave us samples and walked us through his many flavors of choco-tacos. He lets local student teams and clubs create their own flavor combos to raise money, and seems community minded in general. When he delivered our orders they were not only generous, but beautiful. And then we discovered they were filled with treats. He carries a wide variety of flavors, all from the major Oregon brands. He also keeps some international toppings and combinations that you don't see as often. My friends tell me it's important to say they have really good black licorice ice cream, and I told them that sounded like an oxymoron.
I will be going back to take my kids ASAP!
The new owners of this location have done an excellent job in keeping it running and as a new unique ice cream stores while definitely not the same as On Any Sundae was with scoop big…this new location has a sign claiming the worlds best coffee and that’s a hard claim to make yet they have amazing coffee ☕️ they use a Yama Cold Brew tower and locally sourced and roasted coffee right here in Salem! They also now serve ice crew in real bowls just like you might expect going over to someone’s house, true hospitality! The owner is also selling homade 3D printed objects and more. It’s well worth the visit especially if you want amazing tasting fresh coffee.
HUGE servings, friendly staff and a great atmosphere!
Our first time visiting and we will be back!
Mediocre nostalgic experience with a less than satisfactory staff who don’t know their own items or deals
Excellent customer service. Delicious specially made coffee. Strong and tasty. Will be back!
Awesome place to get a frozen treat, Super friendly staff, The ice cream is delicious and unique. The greatest feature is definitely the chicken machine though.
Kid-friendliness: The quarter chicken machine is filled with neat little toys and stickers.

I recently visited Ring of Fire, and it was an experience to remember! From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was inviting and aesthetically pleasing—think bright colors and cozy seating that instantly put us in a good mood.
The owner, who was incredibly personable and kind, really made our visit special. He took the time to chat with us, sharing funny stories while crafting our orders with meticulous care. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does, and it reflected in the quality of the ice cream. He even surprised us with a complimentary drink, which was a delightful touch!
Overall, Ring of Fire is more than just an ice cream shop; it’s a place where you feel valued as a customer. If you’re looking for great ice cream and an even better experience, this is the spot! Highly recommend!

decoration is awesome, ice cream is delicious, owner is extremely generous, funny and friendly. he gave one of us free soft serve because she didn't get any ice cream for herself, and offered a free scoop for the kids when they're able to read a book by themselves for the first time

First time in the other day, It was hot and I was the only one there. Staff were sitting on side (fine) guy got up to get my order, while female did register, never washed his hands or put on gloves and just grabbed a cone. Gross. I almost dumped it in the garbage when I walked out. Idk if you were scratching your butt, picking your nose or none of the above, but I do know you need to wash your damn hands. Signed an RN who is disgusted.

Re: response.. I never left the counter. I waited and watched the preparation of all of our items. There was never any handwashing from beginning to end. Very nice older lady but hand hygiene is very important in food service. Register to ice cream without sanitation by washing or gloves. Then when she prepares the shaved ice her dirty thumb was in the ice.. Inside needs some sort of music or something. Was creepy quiet. Place has potential.

Went in on a Thursday afternoon, place was empty except for the owner and some kids, took 20+ minutes to get a double scoop cone and a single scoop cone, just hope this place gets better.
