Royal Thai Kitchen

We love going to Royal Thai Kitchen. One of the owners know my nieces by name and always come out to say hello and talk with them. Whenever we order takeout the food is ready on time and hot!

Food was delicious, they were more than willing to make an additions or substitutions that we asked for. They have glass noodles which are an amazing substitution in pad Thai. Also very reasonably priced. The space is a bit small for how popular they are however just expect to possibly need to take out instead of dine in. I love the smaller atmosphere. Customer service was awesome. New go-to Thai restaurant in town.

Excellent food! The vegetables were French, flavorful and perfectly cooked. We ordered our food at the “hot” spice level and it was truly spicy!

I stayed at The Hotel Salem and searched all restaurants around it and this place popped up. It was amazing! It’s a smaller restaurant but the people there are so pleasant. Food is amazing. I had a great time there.

For the first time, we went here to order food and found long attachment here in our foods. The food is good but they are very dirty to be able to leave long terrible strands of hair in our food. Maybe they do it on purpose because we are black family. Racist terrible restaurant, we are never going back there and if you are a person of color, think twice before going there because you might end up eating long terrible hairs in your food.The service members were unwelcoming, they don’t smile which make them scary, one of them later warmed out. All terrible service all together and hair in food? That’s a no no. I wish I can attach pictures here.

Had food to go. Very good. Well cooked lots of flavor.

The food here was very good maybe a little above average and the prices were Fair

This is our go to Thai spot in Salem. We’ve tried nearly all of the Thai spots in Salem and this one is by far the best we’ve found! Their yellow curry and drunken noodles are so good, comforting and have good flavor.

Chicken wings were a bunch of little pieces. While more than six pieces not the same as six nice wings.
The half duck was two hind quarters. Not a half duck - no breast. Somewhat overcooked & dry.
Overall disappointing portions though exceedingly tasty. They need to execute as advertised.

Great food but really unwelcoming service. Casual family diner type setting. No vegan curry which was a bummer.

Veg Basil Fried Rice was amazing. Plenty of veges and well cooked with balanced flavors.
Garlic sautéed veges was also really good. Really yummy.
Vegan Pad Thai was a bit liquidy and soupy. But still had enough veges and. Crunchy peanuts.

Not sure why the server was disgruntled. She felt sulking when we made a couple changes to our order and gave us looks when we asked for water to fill our bottles. We praised the dishes but still that didn’t bring a smile on her face. Maybe it was their closing time and she’s the owner so can afford!

But still - great food and highly recommend. Nice clean restrooms also.

Take out can be tricky trying to keep it all hot! Everything was great. The salt & pepper calamari were fried the right way. The wings were tasty. The Chicken Basil & the fried pork was really well made. The only downfall was not enough rice. They are one of the few places that actually do the spiciness right.

I have only done takeout, but the place looks nice. All the dishes we have had are good and the price is similar to other Thai places. You might be able to find a place with better dish here or there, but you will always have good options here.
