We went to have Happy Hour at Rudy's, our favorite restaurant, and it was closed suddenly. Evidently, the owner preferred gambling to keeping his doors open. Really a sad state of affairs for what was a staple in a prime location in downtown Salem, OR.

We were unable to dine at Rudy,s as they had closed permanently between the time we reserved and the time we arrived.

We were not able to eat at Rudys and use our Gift Card, as they were abruptly closed and out of business.

It was permanently closed. This was not referenced in your site and I was allowed to make a reservation

Took an hour and a half before we got our dinner. Lobster was almost raw and steak way over cooked and potatoes lukewarm. Will not go back to Rudys.

The menu online and the current menu do not match. The current menu has been cut down a lot. Hostess forgot to give us drink menus, and when we asked for them, only brought the cocktail menu and not the wine list. This took 20 minutes just to get drinks ordered. Server was too busy socializing with the table behind us to keep track of her other tables. Ordered an appetizer that never came so we sat for another 30 minutes with no food and just waited. Then my husband got his salad, and still no appetizer. Never asked if we wanted another drink. Just overall poor experience to pay so much for.

I have been to Rudy's a few times, enough to know the food is good, the pricing is fair considering the quality of food and the service is typically outstanding. This was by far the worst experience and enough to say we will probably not come back for a while. We had to ask multiple times for refills on our drinks, our food took over 40 mins to be delivered from the time we ordered, our server never checked on us, we had to flag down someone when they walked past to get service and when we did get our food our server never bothered to check to make sure everything was correct. She seemed far too preoccupied with the surrounding tables particularly those that ordered wine. Only one of us ordered a cocktail that took 15 mins to get delivered. I am hoping this is a one off and just a bad series of events but for a high quality restaurant I can brush off a mistake or two but after multiple issues it just doesn't leave us wanting to come back.

Food was delicious 9/10. We chose an outside table.... mistake it was cold and we were sat with only 1 other party and neither of our tables had a heater. I'm sure it's better when it's not cold out. There were also a ton of nasty little flies around which isn't great while your trying to eat. For the price I would have expected better service. Our waitress seemed annoyed the few times she checked in on us. Had to ask multiple times for things like a drink or bread... just not a welcoming feel for our first time trying this place and the price. The mashed potatoes were amazing

Our waitress was Casey and we were seated in the bar. The food was amazing. This was our first experience and we will come back with our a doubt. Desert we to die for as well. I will recommend this place.

My family made reservations for the 9th of January to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. I mentioned while making the reservation that we were celebrating her. When we got to our table the rest of the night consisted of horrible food and service. The server was never informed of our celebration, the steaks were too salty and not cooked correctly, and the lobster was mushy and tasted fishy, not fresh. When it came to dessert the server couldn’t even get a candle to put on my daughter’s cake. My husband tried to order coffee, and they had none. I’ve never been to a fine dining where we paid over $600, that couldn’t get you a candle or coffee! In the end the server never tried to make things right. I don’t recommend this place.

I have eaten in the evening several times thoroughly enjoying the Salmon Neptune each time adding the oysters on the half shell. Normally I love to catch the Happy Hour. Excellent foods at good prices especially since evening prices are very pricey. Although I have tasted the steamed clams twice, both times they offered a bland broth and rather tasteless. Last time, I bit into something hard that was heard around the table. I got the first clam and others questioned what it was that made such a pronounced jawbreaker sound. Today I took another friend in. What changes! The city added a pay kiosk in the parking garage so now you have to pay parking. Additionally, I love the fish & chips. However, they’ve upped the price about $5.00 now they are $18 and instead of the lovely filets, now they look like fish sticks instead. I love the jumbo shrimp cocktail. Service is great. But the new pricing on food and cocktails has changed my view & my frequenting this place. I’m sure that I’m not the only one who has noticed and adjusted their Happy Hour Haunts.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. We’d never been before and didn’t know what to expect but we found a little gem. The atmosphere is cozy while also being fancy and beautiful. The food is amazing and the service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.
