The Wine Pairing Dinner at Cozy Taberna was nothing short of Michelin star caliber. It easily ranks as the best dining experience I’ve ever had. Each course was thoughtfully crafted, showcasing originality and balance, and perfectly complemented by a curated wine selection. What truly set the evening apart was the immersive experience: the owner of Cozy and the featured vineyard walked us through each dish and wine pairing, sharing the inspiration behind their creations. Their passion and storytelling created an inviting and educational atmosphere that deepened our appreciation for every bite and sip. From start to finish, the event was flawless—an unforgettable combination of culinary excellence, warm hospitality, and unique learning. If you're looking for a next-level dining experience, Cozy Taberna delivers.

Exciting menu, delicious food. Warm atmosphere, and delightful staff. Now a favorite place to eat in Salem.

Cozy is the only restaurant my husband and I go to anymore. The food, service and atmosphere is amazing. Our last visit we sat down in the lower level, and it was a little more laid back than upstairs in the main dining room. We have nothing but praise, for Cozy! Lastly, as someone with Celiac, The Cozy Taberna is perfect. So many options!

My girlfriend and I have been here multiple times, including two of their Winemaker's Dinners. This is THE best restaurant in Salem. The service, food, and drinks are all top notch. There are cheaper places to eat, but the adage "you get what you paid for" is embodied here. It is worth every cent.

The patatas bravas are excellent, and the cocktails and wine are superb. I'm a big fan of Vivacity gin, and they make cocktails with that gin! They also have Weller whiskey, which can be hard to find.

Chef Chris is the executive chef, and the man is truly an artist. If you have a chance to experience a Winemaker's Dinner, do it. He artfully pairs food with amazing Oregon wines. Tonight we had oysters with blood orange, salmon with a saffron cream sauce, butternut squash risotto, braised red cabbage with honey pork tenderloin, beef striploin, and almond cake. All skillfully paired with Iterum wines. The first Winemaker's Dinner we went to was with St. Innocent wines, and that experience made such an impression that we had to do it again. The owner knows exactly what he's doing, and the staff is professional to the core.

The Cozy Taberna is truly an experience, one that I hope you get to enjoy. If there is one restaurant in Salem I recommend you go to, it's here.

Absolutely fantastic dining experience, the cedar plank salmon is to die for. The staff was so attentive and polite. Everytime I come here I leave completely satisfied. If you're looking for a date night spot or an upscale dining experience to share with family and friends this is the only place to choose. I'm already looking forward to my next night out here

Wonderful restaurant in Salem. Visited this place twice during my 2 day visit to the city. We ordered their lamb chops (the best) along with garlic shrimp and sourdough bread (delicious). For desserts we ordered their cheesecake and their version of choco lava cake with ice cream. We devoured their desserts. They make some really nice cocktails - we stuck to old fashioned for both the visits. The service is great, ambience is cozy and for parking there is a garage nearby. All in all highly recommend this place in Salem.

I would have given only one star, but the wait staff was awesome, and so were the cocktails. The chef apparently isn't either skilled enough or didn't deem accommodating a single patron enough of motivation to find a way to serve anything on their menu without garlic. (Which also speaks to their skills.) Evidently the only spice they know, as it was in every single dish offered except french fries. They were unwilling or unable to even sauté scallops without garlic. What?
I am very disappointed in the rigidity of the chef. If you have a food allergy, I suggest you find another place to celebrate, unless, you like french fries.

Vegetarian options: Salad was the option.

Dietary restrictions: There were no options for my garlic allergy. French fries

We hadn't been to Cozy since the ownership change and what was immediately noticeable was the change in menu and the fairly significant rise in prices. This visit provided us with the same quality of food, but the value for that food just wasn't there. $40 for half a chicken was just a bit much for something that could be reasonable priced in the mid 20's. I don't mind at all paying for good food, but I felt this was a little over the top. Additionally, I would have preferred to not have seen dishracks stored in the open at the bar from my table at a restaurant of this caliber. That can be excused, but the price for what you get..... Unfortunately, I probably won't return.

On a date night….

Positives: food came out fast, were seated quickly and nice ambiance.

Negative: waiter only came by our table x3. We felt rushed at every encounter. We had to ask her for more time including when she wanted to give us the check and she interrupted our conversations. My partner and I shared all our plates and we both got food poisoning from this restaurant.

Very disappointed.

The cozy lounge downstairs used to be a great option for a quiet dining experience. Sadly, they've made some changes to the lounge that have ruined the ambience. They put up a few huge TV screens that rotate through close-up pictures of the food and pictures of the owner with random people in random locations (??), along with adding in some tacky decor.

Food and drinks are still great (albeit spendy).
