Hmmm something changed. Food used to be great but most recently the chowder was bland and overly priced for serving size.

Ok, we ate here when it first opened, several months ago. The food was great then, good menu etc. They must be under new ownership or something. :(
This time we went there and the menu was completely different! No shrimp & chips, no crab cakes, no advertised melts.
My husband wanted to try the tuna sandwich, pictured on a sub roll with lettuce etc. It was served warm! No mayo mixed in or anything, just warm tuna on a sub roll. Gross! I think they meant it to be a tuna melt, but it was not advertised as such. He couldn't eat it. I tried it and it was not good!
I got the fish & chips and calamari. They put curry in the tarter sauce, gross. They served the calamari with Frank's Red Hot sauce and ketchup, gross! The fish (Cod) was not bad, but the breading wouldn't stay on and I didn't want plain fish with curry tarter sauce. Overall,
It cost us $52 bucks and we couldn't eat our entrées.
They really need to focus on who their customer is, if you go there you'll understand what I mean by that.

listen. i’m not one to leave reviews, let alone bad ones, but this is the first time in my recent memory that i have thrown away food. the first time we came here, the food was really really good and the service was fast. this time was incredibly disappointing. i don’t know what happened, if the original owners sold the franchise or there was a change in management, but the food was substantively different. the fish and chips were not at all the same as the last time i had got them. it changed shapes???? the service was slow and the condiments were not even halfway filled in those already tiny little to-go cups. there was plenty of food, but it just wasn’t good. the breading on the fish was not at all crispy, the fish itself was tough, and the fries were fine, i guess. but the biggest disappointment was the substantial change in quality at the same price point: 17 dollars for a 2-piece fish and chip that i definitely could have gotten from the chef store.

My wife and I loved eating here a few months ago. I had never tried any other fried fish I liked. Unfortunately a new menu and new operators have ruined that. Fish wasn't crispy in the slightest, fries are basic and under seasoned, we got a lime instead of lemon with the fish and chips, and the 2oz sauce cups aren't even half full with tartar, ketchup, or the mystery spicy sauce.

Food here was terrible. It seems like the same guy owns all the trucks of not at least most of them. The fish tasted old and was definitely NOT COOKED ALL THE WAY. the fish tasted old. Employee was argumentative about it. He offered to re do it, but it hardly feels like it would yield a different result. It definitely looked like he did not use any eg wash or anything to the the breading to stick also it seemed like it was the last of the breading in the pan. You know when it's just a little bit of dust and mostly large clumps. This is why we need competition people. Same guy owning all this trucks with disgruntled employees yields some pretty terrible food. Waste of money

What happened? Did they sell the place? They used to have wonderful LIGHTLY breaded fish and real Chips. We went today and it's the same old fish and chips crap you get from SYSCO. So disappointed. Not going back. It tasted ok but not the deliciousness that it used to be.

This place was amazing. Unfortunately went there tonight to get some of the best fries I’ve ever eaten and the truck is there with new owners and a completely different menu. What happened? And is the old Salty Shack available anywhere?

Went here got the shrimp and chips, it was pretty tasty. I really liked the fries, they were tasty and they look like chips, just as if it really was shrimp and chips. The guy working here who took orders was super nice. He had a really good vibe. And the food came out really quickly. It took seven minutes about. Definitely one of the best places at this food cart place. I’m definitely gonna come back here for the fish, or the chowder. ???

New food court in West Salem. Great atmosphere. Clean. Ordered crab cakes. They were excellent and I have had lots of them everywhere. The owner brought us out some fries complimentary with Bob's Burger sauce. Fantastic. He even shared some vegi bones for my dog. Great food cart and you can't beat the customer service, which in this day and age is rare.
