This is a great place to hang out. They have tons of games. They also have two private rooms available. Friendly family run business. Starts with a flat $5 per person fee. It's a very reasonable fee for the low table turn over rate. I average 4 hours per visit. Good food.Parking: The lot hs never been full.It gets close sometimes.Kid-friendliness: The owners kids are often around. They have a really nice changing station. I mostly see adult customers though.

My wife, friends, and I travel from out of town here and there to visit this gem in Salem. The owners are far to kind, have great senses of humor and provide an excellent place for people to gather and have a good time. Food is always bomb and they have SEVERAL board games available for you to play. Also I should mention that the cost of eating lunch/dinner here and playing games is equal or less than just eating at a typical restaurant. It's a win win for customers. Good food and entertainment. Can't beat it.

My first experience with the Game Cafe was a special occasion...my daughter and her fiancé got married here! Owner Robin and her husband were both wonderful, opening two hours early on a Sunday and providing a welcoming venue for the very special event. The bachelor party was also held there the night before, and the men set up the venue for the next morning's festivities. As far as gaming, the guests said that it was the most fun that they'd ever had at a wedding! The walls are filled with shelves and shelves of all manner of board games and there are plenty of tables and chairs for seating, as well as two side rooms which I imagine might be made available for groups, but I don't know if it's first-come-first-served or if the rooms can be reserved. Just ask them. The food is REALLY good; so good that I'd go there just to have lunch and play solitaire by myself.Everything is scratch-made! I had the Clam Chowder and it was excellent, rivaling any top-notch seafood house offering. The Caesar Salad was also very good. The Carnitas Tacos were wonderful, with the carnitas tender and perfectly seasoned. I wouldn't hesitate to try any item on their menu.By all means, go and check out Ticket to Play Board Game Cafe. You'll be warmly welcomed and you'll have a great time.Kid-friendliness: Families are welcome here. As are well-behaved doggoes.

I would come here just for the food- seriously. It's so good. However, their board game selection is also phenomenal. At $5/person for as long as you want to play, it's a great value for the price. It gets busy though, so plan ahead when you want to visit.

What to say about this little Cafe board game heaven? The food was great and flavorful. The owner, helpful, nice, and knowledgeable. The game selection was massive and the atmosphere was like a more cozy Guardian Games. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a bite and have a few hours to kill.Kid-friendliness: Had 2 small ones and there was no issue and a changing table in the restroom if needed was appreciated.

Very friendly atmosphere and awesome service.I really enjoyed how laid back the place is. Nobody is trying to hurry you, and you can sit and enjoy your company and pick out any game that you see on the shelves to play.If you love tea and good food, you should visit this place. There was a buffet of tea selections, and I'm talking about good quality loose leaf tea. I couldn't make up my mind, so I said, " surprise me." I love doing that sometimes just to try something new.The tea was amazing, so good to where I didn't need to add any sugar, honey, I just enjoyed the tea itself. The food was great! I'm actually very picky. I had the Cuban sandwich, and it was grilled perfectly, served hot off the grill, and I enjoyed every bite. Seriously, I was savoring every single bite. I was sad when I was done, lol. I had a cup of soup to go with it, Chilean Chicken soup so good, the broth was very flavorful, and it was served with fresh cilantro sprinkled on top.I was told their food is made from scratch, and I can tell. I admire the hard work put into the food and drinks they serve. No shortcuts made, and I can tell. I will definitely be back, this time with my kids, they will love this place!

This is a delightful little place in Southern Salem. Perfect for a fun time with friends or family, or as a date spot. The food is made fresh and is so delicious. The woman at the front had us take a “tea quiz” to help us decide from the several teas they offer here. It’s $5 to play as many games as you want all day, and you pay your tab at the end of your time there. They have two private game rooms if you need a spot for a TTRPG, and more than enough games for a full day of hanging out and playing.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options available. The flatbread pizza is a “built-it-yourself” style, so you can choose what toppings you have.Kid-friendliness: The owner’s kids were there, as well as patrons with their kids. Kids menu available.
