Been going there for just about nine months. My son goes to school and Turner and we live in Salem so we drive by it on the way home and on Friday we occasionally stop in. The last three trips we’ve been there paying between 70 and $100 to feed a family of three not very big. We do the regular sides maybe add mac & cheese cheese is penne pasta al dente is all get out. I don’t eat it like that but it’s chewing on a straw with sauce on it. The meat which I usually get the tri-tip and wife gets the pulled pork both were smoked probably the weekend previous like I said before we’re talking about Thursday now Drives a bone there ain’t no medium with a tri-tip so don’t bother asking the cornbread is the wood they got on the other side of the fence from the land clearing and I’m sure a lot of the Lord they got from the fact they didn’t render when they heated the meat up

We tried many sides. Burger was severely undercooked, pulled pork tasted like it had been soaked in water. Slaw was flavorless. The street corn was good, and the baked beans were also good. I would expect much more flavor in the food considering the price point was higher. I wouldn't go here again. Service was alright but not worth another stop.( EDITED BECAUSE OWNER REPLIED)I don't review a place the exact day I go, so it isn't a hoax. We went on the weekend. The review stands. It seems you can't take poor reviews as constructive criticism? Take care.

EDIT: Upon seeing the owners reply I'm glad one of his employees has integrity. Sorry I'm not Zach lol.I always give a place three tries before I write them off. The first time they were sold out of everything at 5PM on a weekend. The next time we had the worst food poisoning of our entire life trying the chili. the third time I didn't even finish my order because I saw how filthy their cutting board was sitting next to a bucket of bleach water with raw meat sitting next to finished hot food. close this place down before you kill someone

If you want damn good BBQ and a laid back atmosphere with reasonably priced drinks, hit up this hidden gem off of I5.The pulled pork sandwiches were amazingly good with just the right amount of charred, black ends. I got the potato salad and baked beans and my partner got the street corn and corn bread and both were winners!Sadly we were heading home and didn't grab a drink, but looking at the menu the prices are great and the variety is amazing.Plenty of yard games for kids, a cozy AF fire going, and heating inside the tents. We also got to meet the owner who is super laid back and welcoming. Don't miss checking the place out!Kid-friendliness: Lots of yard games for the kiddos, great laid back space for families and groups.

I was looking at the bad reviews and multiple teams you had gone through when I noticed you assumed another customer was me. Jimmy, I will advise you delete your response to that other review. Nobody called in an emergency. You TOLD me to call Greg when you asked me what you should do and I said the proper and correct thing to do was close down for the day. You admit in your own response you decided to force us to operate without a pump. I wouldn't have called Greg if you didn't specifically instruct me too so I could verify for myself what was going on and be reassured I could continue assisting you. Be accountable to yourself. I was going to keep this between us but allow me to get really loud since you don't understand the consequences: The supervisor wouldn't listen to me that it was illegal to operate off of boiled well water in a tank COVERED in ALGEA. The supervisor wouldn't listen to me that it was illegal to operate with a leaking walk in. The supervisor wouldn't listen to me that it was illegal to have the air/regulator messed up on the propane and the fire marshals would shut it down because of all the SOOT POISOINING the staff. The supervisor wouldn't listen to me that it was illegal to operate without hot water at a temperature of 110 degrees. The supervisor wouldn't listen to me that it was illegal to leave product unwrapped in a leaking walk-in. The supervisor wouldn't listen to me that its a violation to operate without dates on product. TAKE IT SERIOUS JIMMY

I ordered the three meat platter with brisket, tri-tip and pork belly; mmm, mmm, mmm. Firstly, the brisket was cut thick with nice bark and even some fatty pieces included. After all that's flavortown. How many barbecue joints have you seen that have smoked pork belly? That's right, not many and this was on point... With homemade chimichurri sauce ; are you kidding me! And I haven't even talked about the atmosphere yet. Big smoking fire with fresh scented wood, warm tents with heaters and cable TV - I even forgot it was raining sideways outside. The owner is a Salt-of-The Earth kind of guy. So come on out and feed your belly and your soul!

Potato Salad is Spot on. The Beans need some TLC or just maybe some BBQ sauce. It is evident they know how to smoke a brisket but then they surround it with a chimmy-churry & cheese house sauce w/o a hint of BBQ Sauce. The sandwich was tasty but, I believe a more traditional approach would allow the meat to showcase their obvious culinary skills.

I had heard about Willamette valley smoke house from some friends and as a BBQ lover I knew I needed to see what all the hype was about ASAP. And it did not disappoint, the service was fantastic, very attentive and engaging, one employee even jumped up in the middle of an interview to help me out. As for the food it was outstanding, the brisket had great flavor and a solid bark and the play pork belly was a great mix of fatty and meaty. Also, I have to say the smoked chicken thigh may have been some of the best I’ve ever had and I’m not a huge chicken fan. The sides were good as well and enough to serve two people. I arrived at 11am so there weren’t many people around to get a gauge on the environment but there are a number of outdoor games including roping and two large seating areas so I would imagine the environment is great when there are large numbers of people. 10/10 would recommend, the hype was real.

I’m the owner of JT’S BBQ and I stopped in to see Jimmy and order some food. I ordered a combo plate. I had brisket, pork belly, tri-tip and 3 sides. The sides were beans, corn bread and potato salad. I have to say that I do recommend Willamette Valley Smokehouse. Jimmy is a cool guy and I have respect for him and his craft. My favorite was the pork belly and the brisket was pretty good. Jimmy, I wish the best to ya and I’m excited to see where you end up in the next few years man. GREAT JOB!! Sincerely, JT’S BBQ
