Xicha came to my work at MODA Center in Portland, Oregon. They served the most amazing oyster mushroom empanadas and tamarind flavoured shrimp tostada… absolutely to die for!!!

I’m already craving more.
Bummed I’m gonna have to make a long trip for more but I will ?

Yum! I tried the pazole and pork papusas. Absolutely delicious. You can tell everything is freshly made. House margarita was very strong. Everything was amazing. Staff was great to check with the kitchen to make sure the menu items I asked about were indeed gluten-free. I will definitely return.

Such a great find. The food was delicious and the beer was good too. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our family of four shared three taco plates and the chicken pupusas plate, which was a daily special. The barbacoa, camarones, pescado, and pollo tacos were delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed with good music. We can't wait to return in the future.

Fantastic food, great service and good beer. My husband ordered the ceviche and I ordered the vegetable empanadas. We also got some chips and salsa. Top notch all around. My husband says this is the best latin food experience he's had.

This place is awesome. Super cool vibe, Latin brewery with tasty food. We got the margarita flight which was great, the spicy one was our favorite, just enough spice but not overwhelming.

For food we got the mixed taco plates and taquitos. You can do no cheese so that’s great. The chicken taquitos were so good! The mixed tacos were great too, our favorites were the veggie, chicken, and shrimp, very flavorful.

You should definitely go here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks and took advantage of the three-taco combo, along with the nachos.
We tried the fish, shrimp, and crispy pork belly tacos, and all were excellent. The crispy pork belly tacos were particularly impressive, easily ranking among my top favorites. The nachos disappeared within minutes of arriving at our table; they were packed with flavor and simply too good to resist.

The restaurant has a cool Aztec vibe. While the exterior has a bit of a rustic charm, the outdoor area features an industrial feel that adds character. Inside, there are fun and bright decorations that create a lively atmosphere.

Great spot! The beers they brew are adventurous and deliver a distinctive flavor that fill a void in the city. The cocktails are great and the margaritas distinguish themselves as the most delicious and bold that this Texan couple can attest to in Oregon. The food is a wonderful authentic mix of Yucatán, inner Mexico, Central American cuisine that we’ve found so far in the capital region. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars for atmosphere only because the clientele seem to be mostly upper middle to upper class. Being that its location is on west side of town, it is to be expected. It’s just that I prefer a blue collar type of space. The fact that it’s dog friendly is a huge plus.

We finally got out to try Xicha. We went for dinner on a Saturday, early enough it was not very busy yet. The two of us shared empanadas, veggie nachos, and patatas bravas. Each dish was delicious! There were enough vegetarian choices that we were happy and well fed. Then there was the beer. I heard about Chela and it lived up to the hype. We each tried two different beers and they were great, too! I don't know that I could pick a favorite, but I would love to try more. The cashier / host at the counter was very friendly and helpful! The patio was comfortable and it was a beautiful day to eat outside. This was a very nice experience! Thank you.

Vegetarian options: There are a few dishes where you can choose veggies instead of meat such as empanadas, nachos (we asked), tacos and the patatas bravas are veggie. Of course, chips and salsa as well.

I ordered the empanadas, churros and the panko avocado because they were marked “vegan option available” on the menu. The person who took my order assured me they would be vegan. When they showed up, the food runner also assured me they were vegan but told me they didn’t know how they made the crema. The avocado was also covered in cotija. I double checked at the counter and they told me that actually none of it was vegan. Even if this place technically has vegan options, I have zero confidence that you’re going to get what you ask for.

Great food and decent selection of beers & drinks. Service is consistently good. Outdoor seating is a plus. Their fried avocado and veggie tacos are a local staple. Will definitely be back
