A bakery that clearly understands it's on the Oregon trail and shows that with it s historic offerings and memorabilia in the gift shop. This place used to be really cheap, and now it's on the low end of the high side. Excellent food, especially their sandwiches which are reasonably priced. I've heard people rave about the coffee, though I've never had it. They have an astounding collection of candy from a long time ago. Stuff you haven't seen probably...
Coffee and pastries are so delicious and well priced. We stopped there for lunch after a long hike and truly enjoyed everything. The pastries are not overly sweet, and reminded us of baked goods in Europe. We ended up buying more for breakfast the next day. Excellent counter staff. Too bad we don't live there!

UPDATE-Dec 2025. The beloved owners sold this place and, I am sorry to say, the new owners don't have the knack for good food.
I used to get blackened salmon because it was wild, but I will think twice. It may be the same salmon, but the chef is definitely a downgrade. Before, it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Now it is burnt on one side and raw on the other, and no blackening at all.
