My husband and I spent a full day at Crater Lake and were starving. We tried calling Pizza at the Cove, the line said it was busy. That’s fine, I guess, but our ETA was 8:30 (30 minutes before close) so we decided we’d just order in person. We pull up. Open sign is on, the door sign says open, there are people inside… we walk in and the lady at the front gives us a look and says, “We’re closed,” like WE were the ones who were confused. My apologies ma’am, considering online says you close at 9 and you had open signs everywhere, we were left with the (apparently false??) impression that ya’ll were open. Just a PSA to businesses: if you’re going to stop serving food at a certain time, adjust your hours to reflect when you’re ACTUALLY serving food. If you don’t want to do that, at a MINIMUM turn your open sign off so people who go out of their way don’t have to go in and be snarked at by your staff. Since you have no way of knowing when this business is actually open, it’s probably in your best interest to not bother going at all.

I constantly hit this spot when I’m floating the river or come back from south umpqua and it’s always fire food and the girls do an amazing job on my Hawaiian every single time 😎. 💯 percent recommend 👌🏽👌🏽

We had taken our service dog into this restaurant in the past and they were more than happy to abide by the law but tonight, two employees broke Oregon law by refusing service now they are up for civil liability. One other thing, I wonder if the cook that did not have on a hair net or the lady serving that had long hair realize how much hair flies off of their head in one day or how many skin cells are lost and floating around their restaurant? One dog in a lap carrier zipped up will not do any more than one person. It was a ridiculous statement. She basically backed us out of the restaurant and bullied us out
🐕 Federal Law (ADA Title II & III)
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, service dogs are allowed anywhere members of the public can go—that means restaurants, airplanes (via Air Carrier Access Act), hotels, malls—you name it. The only permitted staff questions (when it's not obvious the dog is trained) are:
1. **“Is it a service dog required because of a disability?”**
2. **“What work or task has it been trained to perform?”**
They absolutely cannot ask about your disability, demand documentation, registration, or make the dog “prove” its skills (yes, even if you’re feeling generous with the frisbee tricks)
Tasks? They include things like alerting you to seizures—a totally legit seizure dog—and many other disability‑related tasks .
🐾 Oregon Law ORS 659A.143 (Almost Word‑for‑Word ADA)
Oregon’s state law mirrors the ADA almost exactly. Places of public accommodation (restaurants, hotels, transit, etc.) may only ask those same two questions when it’s not obvious what the dog does:
Is the animal required because of a disability?
What work or task has it been trained to perform?
No demands for paperwork or demos. And no fees for letting your federally protected seizure dog tag along .
🏨 Where Service Dogs Go (and People Can’t Snooze)
Restaurants, hotels, shops, theaters: Full access guaranteed. No surprise attempts to exclude your seizure dog, so keep an eye out for eye‑rollers.
Airplanes: Covered by separate Air Carrier Access Act rules, but with the same two permitted questions—basically federal law, but with extra seat‑belt nonsense.
Public transit and government buildings: Covered under ADA Title II and Oregon’s own rules.
Can’t charge extra: No “cleaning fee” because your dog sheds a bit.
📝 Quick Fact Sheet
Is it a service dog “required because of a disability”? “Yep. Seizure‑alert dog, not your average Bark Ranger.”
What work/task is the dog trained to perform? “Alerts me to seizure activity. Not just cute fetch tricks.”
They cannot ask anything else. If they do—tell ’em to reread ORS 659A.143 or risk a complaint or lawsuit (and maybe some IRS Audible credits for therapy).
In short: Oregon won’t let your dog—or you—get hassled beyond two simple questions. And whether it's flying cross-country or dining at a Portland food cart pod, seizure dogs are in. No paperwork, no interrogation, no extra bills.
Oregon bureau of Labor and Federal ADA complaint tomorrow. Learn the law. And you could have been much nicer in the way you spoke to us. You were rude and uninformed.

Got a take out pizza. Was a great pizza, perfectly cooked. Great crust and quality toppings. Staff was super friendly and pizza was ready on time. Restaurant was clean and fun family atmosphere. Honestly not sure why this isn’t a higher overall rating than what is shown. We would eat their pizza again and the salad bar looked delicious.

They have pretty good pizza but only one kind of crust. It was good but I like thin crust better. That's my only complaint

Oh what an adorable place! We stopped by here on our way from Crater Lake to Redwood NP. Our server was so sweet and I had a small Mediterranean Vegetarian Pizza which was absolutely delicious. I rarely find a good veggie filled pizza in the US and this was totally one of them. The outdoor seating in the twilight hour was pleasant.

This place is a good spot to stop if you're out this way. My partner and I love grabbing the personal pizzas which are fairly priced and a good size. The crust is amazing, but the topping to sauce ratio depends on who is working. Some days are better than others, but it's never a bad pizza and never overly greasy.
Natural ingredients, whole milk mozzerila cheese, stringy and gooey, like pizza cheese should be
