As someone who has lived in Philly or the Philly suburbs for 20+ years, I laughed really hard when I saw an oldtime western saloon called “Philadelphia’s Steaks” on the opposite side of the country as Philly.
Given the general wisdom around Philly that if you have to call it a Philadelphia or Philly cheesesteak, it’s not gonna be any good, I was skeptical but I also absolutely had to try it.

In Sisters Oregon for a wedding. When we drove by we thought, another imitator with the name “Philly Cheesesteak”wanna be. We smelled the onions the moment we walked and knew they were the real deal!!! I asked who was from Philly. The employee stated, “the owner’s Father was from Philly!
