Lighthouse Deli And Fish, Newport

I used to live in Oregon 12 years ago. Every time I was in Newport I would always stop and get the best halibut fish n chips from here. Now when we come to visit family in Vancouver WA. I will always make the trip down to South Bay to still get the best halibut fish n chips. Love this place.

I have been coming here for years. Always delicious and fresh. Try the Salmon candy, you can't go wrong.

We love Lighthouse Deli! It is a must when we visit the coast. Try their oyster shooters. Their cocktail sauce is the bomb-digity!

Re-Visit, as always place was very busy, feel the service was below what we experienced last time we were here. Dad ordered chowder, said it was excellent, we ordered the most expensive (Captain's Platter). That said, did not feel it was at the level of previous visit, greasy and small portions. Noticed the cook was struggling to keep up, felt for him. This place has character, we sat at side and the day was pleasant.

Halibut, scallops, oysters & the best fried shrimp I’ve ever eaten. Spicy cocktail sauce was fire. Inside or outside dining.

Had heard so much about this place from a friend I was visiting, and she raved about this being the best fish and chips ever!!! and we are both from Seattle. I was famished and so excited. Unfortunately our order of halibut and chips was extremely dry and had no flavor. French fries were just that 'not chips', some strange coating on them and the breaded scallops lacked moisture and taste. Good thing was the calamari which was cooked perfectly, as well as the raw oysters. For over $100+ on lunch (no drinks, etc.) I felt taken to the cleaners!!!! Glad you have clients that wait and wait and wait. At your prices, and dry fish (the worst!) I will not be waiting in line anytime soon.

Bay shrimp we purchased after being in the fridge stunk the whole fridge and trailer up. I hope we don’t get sick from the tiny amount we ate. ????Lighthouse maybe you should check your product for freshness.

Great, fresh seafood! When people are lined up outside, you know it is good! And boy it was so good! I had the halibut with fries, my hubby had cod. Both were delicious. And eating outside in the sunshine made it even better. While you wait in line, it doesn't take long to get it and the wait is absolutely worth it.

Earlier in the week we saw a line out of the door of this place and knew it must be good. After reading reviews we decided to give it a try as we were wanting some good seafood. This place did not disappoint! Don’t let the hole in the wall ambience fool you. This is fresh, local seafood. We got the whole crab and clam strips with fries, and clam chowder. All of it was delicious! It was so good we came back the next day and got the whole crab and fish and chips (cod). It needed some salt but I was too lazy to fight the crowd to go inside to get some. The convenience store attached has lots of options for beverages for you. Even if the line is long from the time of your prefer it’s only about a 10-15 min wait for your food. Don’t hesitate…just go! You won’t regret it!

Hole in the wall. Be prepared to stand in line for 5-10 minutes. Because it is soooo good. Fresh fish, crab, and seafood. Wonderfully light fish and chips. Both Cod and Halibut were delicious. Not greasy. There is a market attached to get your beverage of choice. Sit outside at picnic tables or get it to go. But Go.

Building looks a little ruff but food was delicious. They were cooking fresh crab right out front! We had the crab sandwich and halibut fish and chips both delicious! Shrimp cocktail was a bit spicy but still good

Fish was delicious. Got halibut fish n chips. Fresh and so good! Truly a hole in the wall place, but totally delicious. Also tried stuffed jumbo shrimp! So good!!

Crab $14+/lb, Halibut fish /chips (small basket) $22+, calamari fish/chips(small basket) $17+, clamp chowder medium bowl $12. Seafood are fresh but standard fish/chips taste. Nothing special. Will not go back for that kind of a price tag.

Don’t let the dingy hole in the wall look of the place detour you. Doesn’t look like much but the fresh local fish is to die for! It’s a fish market & restaurant with a mini mart on the other side. We ordered the prawns and halibut with clam chowder and candied salmon- loved everything!!! The halibut chunks were super moist and flaky, the prawns were large! Lots of fresh clams in the chowder! I also purchased a can of their albacore tuna and expect that will be amazing as well. I was reading a few of the other reviews mention it being too greasy… It’s fried food. Need we really say more? LOL!

There was a line for ordering but it moved quickly. Had the fish n chips and some candied salmon. They also have canned fish and got some albacore tuna. The fish n chips and salmon were great! It came out pretty quick and was some of the best we've had. It's a small place, not fancy but worth every penny! They also have the fish market for those who want to cook themselves. Would go back!!
