This used to be my "go to" fish shop when visiting Newport/South Beach. On my last visit I noticed that they started selling 2nd Amendment merch. While I support the 2nd Amend. I DO NOT appreciate a business (a restaurant no less) that feels it necessary to foist their political opinions on others - whether invited or not. Stick to cooking and selling awesome food and keep your idealistic political opinions to yourself.

Another delicious seafood meal @ South Beach Fish Market in (South Beach) Newport, OR. !! Friendly service from hardworking staff. Straight forward ordering, and minimal wait time, but of course it depends on your timing and peak meal hours. We have always enjoyed their fresh seafood and make it a point to eat here when we're in the area! Prices have gone up, so I posted the current menu. Great location and plenty of tables to choose from inside and out. A sink is available to wash up after meals located inside between eating area and convenience store. Port-a-potties for restrooms outside.

This place is overrated. Or is it due to high expectations from the great reviews i have read. Mea culpa but the clam chowder tasted like it came out of a can. You can't even taste any clam at all. The portions are smaller than i expected with the price tag. The fried shrimps are very ordinary tasting nothing great.

Best fish and chips in Newport hands down. Choices for combos on premium fish keeps variety on the table. Market prices are steep but worth it for the quality of fish and shellfish although better deals on crab abound on the other side of the bridge. Summer crowds have the line out the door to the street but a call-in order saves much of the wait time. It's a once a month highlight for us.

This place is really good! Their fried fish is delicious and I loved the grab burger, they don't skimp out at all. They may be a little pricier but it's absolutely worth it. Coming from Washington this place is still my favorite for friend seafood in the PNW. Totally worth a stop!

Food is great, the staff are friendly, and there is absolutely no ambiance because it is outdoors.

I have zero complaints about the quality of either the fresh fish or prepared fish and chips, but their prices are borderline outrageous. I am aware that all expenses have gone up, from paper products, to wages, to utilities but they are charging 15% - 30% more than other comparably sized fresh fish markets - including those an hour inland (theoretically they would have higher costs do to the transport needs). It's disappointing across the board, but seeing $3.50 listed for a large fountain soda is what pushed me to actually leave a review. After decades of patronage, I won't be back.

I have heard great things about this place! So our next trip to Lincoln City we decided to try it. It's just beyond Newport. It has all fresh seafood, and a small little area to eat, which opens up to another seating area, with a convenience store. I ended up buying a sweatshirt after lunch so it was a one stop shopping. Very friendly staff. There were 4 of us so we tried a variety of food. I had crab salad, loaded with crab. Hubby got a crab sandwich, tons of crab as well. Just check out the pic! Our friends shared a combo of halibut/prawns fries with a side of cole slaw. Every one enjoyed everything, except cole slaw was a tad dry. My hubby was extremely happy with crab sandwich. Not cheap, but definitely worth it. We will be back.

Small fish market with the most excellent food. Eat there or to go. Nothing fancy but we love it. We make sure to go there when we're in Newport

Fantastic crabs here! Amazing smoked fish also. Doesn't look like much when you drive up....but it's worth it!

Absolutely everything I've eaten here has been phenomenal, however, After a dozen visits over two years I can proudly say their House Smoked Chinook Candied Salmon is hands down the best food I've had in my life. I've gone back time and time again and even as price increases it's worth every single penny every single time. It's truly amazing. Eat it under cold pouring rain outside and you'll still never experience anything like it

We got the halibut and chips and the popcorn shrimp and chips. Both were amazing and so fresh. They batter and fry them to order.

I had the crab burger and my wife had the crab sandwich. We ordered sides of clam chowder which was the worst cup of corn meal with no taste of clam at all. The cocktail shrimp sauce is spicy and be warned it is spicy. I don't know how they can charge 11$ for a cup of paste so beware . If you want paste your at the right spot for clam chowder.. other food is good . Customer service is good myself and wife literally at this spot at 230 pm on the 29th of Oct. 2023

The halibut fish and chips was and is the best thing going in South Beach. I have been here many times and bring out of town friends and family any chance we get. The staff are busy from open to close. Long lines but fast moving. The cocktail sauce is on the horseradish side but has some good heat and flavor. The shrimp and chips is great option too.

Re-Visit, as always place was very busy, feel the service was below what we experienced last time we were here. Dad ordered chowder, said it was excellent, we ordered the most expensive (Captain's Platter). That said, did not feel it was at the level of previous visit, greasy and small portions. Noticed the cook was struggling to keep up, felt for him. This place has character, we sat at side and the day was pleasant.
