Beyond the Forest

I have gone to Beyond the Forest for all my floral needs for the past couple years and they truly NEVER disappoint! Most recently I ordered flowers for my father’s celebration of life, they delivered a beautiful standing spray and an urn spray. They were exactly what I asked for, beautiful colors, lots of greenery. They were so kind and compassionate during all my interactions with them and were very punctual with their delivery. I cannot recommend them enough! Beautiful flowers, yummy coffee and amazing people running it.

Michael was exceptionally warm and friendly! I popped into the super cute storefront to look inside, it’s a mix of boutique, floor shop, and coffee and pastry shop. They have a great selection of items! The coffee was delicious! But the best part are the people who run the shop who are phenomenal and friendly. I’ll definitely be back to support this small business.

My husband and I got married last weekend, and we had a pretty DIY approach to just about everything. We're very hands-on people with some experience putting together large gatherings. I built our arbor, we brought our own alcohol, had a family member do our cake, did all our own décor and floral, lighting, and entertainment ourselves. We did all of our planning and day-of logistics ourselves.

The one thing we went into it knowing we wanted hired help for was with the food, specifically for a main course. So we hired Beyond The Forest to bring out enchilada platters, beans, rice, and some non-alcoholic drinks.

I cannot begin to express how happy we have been with every single aspect of their involvement in our big day. For one thing, the food was absolutely incredible. We received many compliments on taste and presentation, and we're going to be very sad when our leftovers are all gone ?. Their pricing was also super reasonable, as we got tremendous bang for our buck. Lastly-- the thing that has really stuck with us-- is just how wonderful they have been to work with.

Haley and her husband Michael strike a rare and perfect balance between rock-solid professionalism and a warm friendliness that lets you know immediately that you're in the best hands around. Every interaction with them from our first tasting to the wedding itself has been helpful, kind, fun and just... perfect.

It's obvious how much they care about their clients. During her time at our wedding, Haley checked in with us multiple times to make sure we were doing okay and that things were going the way we wanted. She also reminded us repeatedly to take a moment to sit down and enjoy some of the delicious food for ourselves, which is honestly exactly what we needed. Truthfully, we might have forgotten to eat if it wasn't for her being so observant and detail-oriented, and watching out for us.

If I had my wedding to do over again, the one thing I would change is that I would hire Beyond The Forest to play a significantly larger role. I can only speak from personal experience on their food, coffee, and direct client communication (which are all *absolutely* stellar). But if their planning services, floral, photography, styling, etc. are anywhere near the same level of quality, then Beyond The Forest is truly the ultimate one-stop shop to bring your perfect wedding or other event to life.

Our wedding took place August 5th, 2022 but these things have stuck with me since.

Everything started off great at first. I loved our engagement photos. Hayley seemed to be easy to communicate with. Leading up to the wedding of 75 expected guests, she told us that she would have a second photographer at the wedding with her(her husband). A couple weeks before the wedding, I urgently needed to hire her catering service offered as well. She said absolutely and we agreed on the taco bar. I ordered enough servings for 75 guest. A week before I ADDED a vegan tray for the vegetarians in attendance. So there should have been enough for 100 people(only 50 people showed up).

THINGS THAT WENT WRONG: Her husband ended up being the caterer so there was no second photographer. He apparently pulled his disk in his back or something and wasn’t able to move much so my guest had to help him carry and move things. He was frazzled and sweating profusely. He kept going to his car to sit down and I would even see him on his phone in there. No one was really monitoring food portions. We ran out of food after 30 people. I had 1 taco. Everyone else had to go get chips and snacks from a liquor store. He used all the extra items I had in the fridge that weren’t for the wedding meal and he didn’t even ask. They put out desserts including our wedding tart because the food was taking too long and then they got mad at my husbands grandmother for cutting into the tart. They did try to rectify this and pic up another from the store, however the new one was lined inside with chocolate and I don’t like chocolate so I couldn’t eat it other than for pictures. Oh the buffet table caught on fire and guest put it out. Hayley disappeared with the groom and groomsmen to get pics of them smoking cigars for an hour cause she really wanted the shot, I danced by myself and my husband missed all the songs he picked. I was pregnant(7mo) at the time of the wedding and during my aunts speech, Hayley told me I was bleeding and I literally ran to the bathroom only to find out it was chocolate. I don’t know if she panicked and tried to distract me because we were running out of food at the time or what but that was traumatic. The foot also tasted horrible. Rice was inedible and it was all bland and basic. This was feedback from guests. The pics from the wedding were okay. Some were good and some had horrible lighting. I asked her multiple times to change the lighting and she barely made a difference. I changed the ones I could myself and there’s a before and after picture with my edit.

THINGS I LOVED: The flowers were gorgeous. She let me change them from our original plan and I loved staring at them and the way they came out. Our engagement photos were also beautiful. I think she’s a talented photographer and does well when she takes her time and has help. I honestly think she didn’t have help that day and her husband wasn’t in a condition to do his part. That should have been communicated to be prior and not finding out through errors the day of.

I really do wish them success on their business because they were nice. I hope they have hired more staff now to help so it never gets as frazzled for others as my experience was.

Had Beyond the forest cater my sons wedding. They also handled the video and pictures. If I could give them 6 stars I would. The food was incredible. We had appetizers including the delicious stuffed mushrooms and mac and cheese balls. The dinner entrees were just as amazing. They even made a vegan taco/mexican entree that was incredible. Haley and Michael checked in with us frequently and coordinated with the reception venue to make sure everything went perfect. Couldn't recommend them more highly. We have also used them for our rehearsal dinner, and again they provided delicious food at a reasonable price. Love you guys. Can't thank you enough for all your efforts.

Great coffee and we enjoyed the doughnuts! I was so busy looking at all the goodies and plants that I missed getting a photo of her gorgeous flowers. Cute shop with lots of choices, a must see!

I have made many stops in this beautiful shop. We have purchased flowers, items, drinks and snacks and never been disappointed. I love her flower arrangements, beautiful! In chatting with the owners, I learned that some of the snack/food items are prepared by other local small businesses. Be sure to stop in, you are not only supporting this awesome business but several others at the same time.

I ordered the most beautiful bouquet of flowers for my sister’s birthday. Our father had just passed away and it was going to be an exceptionally hard birthday to celebrate. I placed the order but they are closed on Mondays which happened to be her birthday. I decided to go ahead and just have the flowers delivered a day late. Much to my surprise and delight, they delivered the flowers on Monday- even though they were normally closed!! Because they are just kind, wonderful people!

? Flowers delivered on a Saturday afternoon, last minute. Communication and flowers were excellent and the topper is a picture of them delivered on the front porch. Very cool.

I have searched everywhere in town for gluten free goodies and I finally found something wonderful!

The gluten free goodies here don't even taste like they are gluten free. Apparently, the gluten free baked goods are made local too!

I haven't had one bad gluten free dessert from here. And the dessert goes really good with the coffee too.

I can't say enough good things about this place.

The atmosphere feels like I'm visiting Portland.

The plants give it a really cool vibe and they sell bouquets for a decent price too!

Oh and they do photography and catering. So I'm getting some maternity pictures done from them too. 🤗

If you haven't stopped in for coffee, gluten free goodies, regular baked goods, flowers, plants, catering, or photography then you should.
