Friendly welcome on a Friday night. Seat yourself - choices are eclectic. Same goes for the beer menu and it's ever-changing as kegs tap out and a new one takes it's place. New burger menu included the Fat Stack, which was amazing. Chili fries and BRT classic burgers satisfied the kids. And the there are the pretzel sticks and hot dogs - they are next-level. Dessert choices were limited but looked delicious but who has room!?
I really enjoyed this cute little spot tucked into an intimate corner of the St. Helens downtown. Despite it nearly being closing, the super friendly server (who was happy to discuss their "nerdy tattoos") easily handled a party of 8. Big River offers an impressive selection of draft beers and ciders, as well as back of house wine bar, which I will definitely be trying next time around. I've been here a number of times and have had some of the hot dogs which were great, but my fave is the pastrami sandwich which is truly outstanding. It's just excellent pastrami - on a par with New York. I also have to say the fries are amazing too - not greasy at all and very pleasant to eat.We tend to eat at odd times so we've not seen a crowd, but it's a very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere.
