We frequent St Helen's from Portland with our friends on the weekends do to the safe and plentiful public boat parking there. This is our newest great find on the Columbia water front, so charming and cozy with a delicious menu and great service. We have not been disappointed yet.

Amazing Whiskeys, a steak that melted in my mouth, and one of the best halibut filets I have had. The flavor of the food was wonderful, truly on the level of fine dining without the uptight atmosphere. The energy of the whole place was very upbeat but still relaxing and the staff was attentive and a lot of fun. Drinks did take a little bit of time, but only enough to make sure they were made with care. Definitely a must visit if you are in St. Helens.

James works his tail off, and is very engaging! He makes the place! The food is excellent with a variety of items on the menu. The atmosphere is cool, eclectic and vintage.

They treat their employees poorly.

Great patio during warm months, upscale ambiance inside and a serious brunch spot. No reason to go to NW 23rd street when you have the best chicken and waffles right here in town!

A must if you're in St Helens! This historical building is amazing for brunch and has a wonderful atmosphere. The cherry on top is the staff is very helpful, and ensures you are treated right and taken care of. Best of all, the food is to die for! All fresh ingredients and so yummy. The brunch menu for drinks is also amazing

I had ordered carry out from the Klondike, and quite frankly I was pretty unimpressed with all of the meals. The Seafood pasta I had ordered was soupy and incredibly un flavorful, except the Shrimp/Prawns. The make your own Macaroni and Cheese with Pulled Pork Jalapeños and Onions was not as we expected, meat was pretty bland, if you could find any at all in the dish. And the kids dinners ended up looking like a hockey puck (burger), and freezer fries. Exactly as they stated. (Served plain and dry) I don’t know if it was just an off night or if this is consistent service. We’ve eaten here before they’d shut down (pleased with the food then) and when they had reopened.
Drinks were good, food was OK (but kind of lackluster or mediocre for the HIGH price). Drinks were the best part of the meal!

This is a great place to go for the atmosphere, but it stops there. We came for Father's day. My daughter so excited. We got here a little after 11 am. It was not busy. We ordered right away. It took 10 minutes for drinks to be served. We still haven't got our food by 11:45. We finally had to ask for 1/2 our order to be to go at noon. My husband and I got our food 10 minutes later. He had ordered coffee at 12:16 he still didn't have it. Ridiculous. My eggs were cold. For the pricey menu; we won't be coming back.

Great evening meal! We thought the bib lettuce wedge salad was going to be the outstanding part of the meal, then when the Shrimp Bucatini arrived we were blown away. Sooooo delicious! The Cheesecake with the compote was perfectly balanced. Not too sweet, not to heavy - just right.

A large group of us went to the Klondike Tavern for a friend's birthday party. It didn't disappoint! From the delicious food, to the wonderful service, to the fun atmosphere (including the back outdoor patio where we had toasts afterwards), it was an all-around amazing place for a dinner celebration! Next time I'm in St. Helens, I will definitely head back to The Klondike Tavern!

So glad to see some of the former Dockside's staff here. The food was amazing, the staff are attentive. The lamb dish is exceptional. I Can't wait to go back.
Vegetarian options: The Moroccan Tagine is vegetarian and very good. There are other vegetarian options as well.
Dietary restrictions: There are clearly labeled Gluten Free items available.

What can I say? Absolute perfection. From the moment we walked in the door we knew we’d entered somewhere special. The historic building is so charming, the menu is creative, the staff are warm and welcoming, and the food was all incredibly delicious. Will absolutely be back.

The food is excellent, the cocktails are inspired, and the setting is remarkable. This is indeed a very special place that deserves to be on your bucket list this year. Perfect for a night out. It's a short and lovely drive from Portland through forest & along the river so consider the trip to Klondike part of the adventure. The restaurant is located in the historic St. Helens Hotel Annex, which was lovingly and meticulously renovated by the new owner. On a sunny PNW day it would be a hard decision whether to eat inside and take in the warm woodwork and vintage fixtures vs. the bright and spacious patio in the middle of charming St. Helens.Don't miss the spinach dip, brussels sprouts, beet salad, truffle fries or hazlenut buccatini pasta. Off the cocktail menu you must try the strawberry bee's knees and/or mezcal spring sour.
