“My wife and I ate here the other weekend for lunch and had the whole place to ourselves. Great and friendly service and great food. I really hope things get better for this new location. Pizza was awesome. The Italian sandwich was great, but could use a little more toasting of the bread. Feta and artichoke dip was really good. “We decided to try a new to us restaurant on our recent Ashland trip and Hearsay came up. We had a lovely dinner. It was paced nicely and not too rushed. The food was all well prepared and tasty. Our server Lola was very helpful. We plan on coming here again!“

What a fun little place lots of character.
Even though there is a smallish menu, everything looks inviting it was hard to choose. I did finally settle on chicken pot pie. A classic that I love that is a rare item on menus nowadays. My wife picked one of the Benedicts. Staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. We really enjoyed our meals and our time. Very cute place to have a good fun meal.“

“Great news for dog owners! If you REALLY enjoy sharing a meal with your dog, Louie’s is your place. Last night, a dog at the indoor table next to ours was enjoying dinner from the same plate as it’s human! The human would have a bite, then the dog would lick a bite off the plate. When I asked our waiter about this uncommon situation, he replied that Louie’s prides itself on being very pet friendly. I then said, “The dog and the human are eating from the same plate at the table!” He replied, “That may be pushing it a little,” but took no action to discourage the happy dog and human.“

“They always take good care of us! We started with great cocktails: I had the Well-oiled Machinist, a duck fat washed Buffalo Trace bourbon with campari! Ooh la la! My wife had their G&T with a house made rosemary-forward tonic that was to die for. For starters my wife had amazing crisped potato dumplings with zucchini and vadouvan curry, covered in diced tomatoes and chives. (Pictured below) I had the perfect beef carpaccio.

For dinner we had the Katsu Pork Confit Crepinette, a rich and decadent creatively twice cooked pork, loosely ground, and fried crispy; and the also rich and wonderful seared duck breast where roasted root veggies played with bright fresh orange.

“We really enjoyed meeting up with local family and our SOU student here for dinner. The chopped salad was a hit, as well as the tuna melt and pulled pork sandwich. The highlight for me was the pumpkin curry soup, with depth of flavor and the perfect amount as a starter course. The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere warm and inviting. I had been craving a Gyros for months and hadn't found a really good one in Oregon before I went back to Ashland this week and could revisit Xerces... they are still delicious. My wrap was so good, really fresh lettuce/cuke/onion, excellent sauce, perfect gyros meat, and a nice fresh Pita. Yum!“

“Dinner was delicious. I had the mushroom ravioli with pesto. Hubby had 3 brisket tacos. Peyton, our waiter, was an outstanding young g man. He was personable and attentive.
Breakfast the next morning wasn’t so great! We both had an omelette because they were so good at the Sacramento Hilton the day before. Not so good here. The coffee was good, but had to ask the waitress when we needed a refill. The omelette was okay, the potatoes just ok, bacon was crispy like I ordered.
Next time we’ll eat dinner here, but definitely not breakfast.“

“Pretty cool place that is fully sprinkled. We had the cheese curds and pretzel to start. They were both delicious. The cheese curds were crispy but didn't seem over fried. I had the Modern Cowboy with Buffalo. The burger was cooked to perfection and had a good taste. The fries had the perfect crispy outside and soft inside. My wife had the nachos. They were good, but there are better options.“

“I stupped into The ResZone to watch the Golden State Warriors had some great wings and a wonderful old-fashioned. Bryan is an excellent bartender. The last old-fashioned I got was at Martinos. I asked the bartender Steve not to put soda water in it and he did it anyway he said that's the way it's made yet I brought in the playboy bartender guide from the 60s and they do not make the original old-fashioned with soda water it tasted Like Coca-Cola..Steve the bartender refused to make it the proper way. Absolute smash for meat lovers. I know my meat and I smoke it, but these guys nailed it. This is competition level meatery. We had the Porkstrami and let me tell you it was absolute perfection. Had a hardy smoke flavor with a solid consistent kick. A perfect blend of flavors and heat. Truly raised the bar. I shall return. Repeatedly.

The outdoor seating is simple and casual. Feels like my buddies backyard. Not to mention great beers on tap to match with the SAMMICH.“

I had the wild Oregon mushroom fettuccine with salmon for dinner and it was very creamy and had great flavor! The salmon was cooked perfectly. “Neighborhood restaurant located in small strip mall. Adequate parking. Staff were warm and welcoming - friendly, neighborhood feel. Good menu with range of entrees - all with excellent pricing. For table of 6, all the entrees were excellent - good taste, good presentation. Family recently moved to the area and this has quickly become one of their go-to restaurants. Will definitely go again when in the area.“
