This was our first visit. The macadamia nut chicken and green beans were excellent. Our waiter I think his name was Noah, was wonderful. I know prices are going up but I think $15 for a gin and tonic was expensive. But we will be back
Service was extremely slow. Certain items in the menus were decent but overpriced. The prime rib on the menu was not a prime rib cut but something else entirely. Staff was friendly but inattentive or perhaps understaffed for the dinner shift. Ambience is nice and clean. Overall experience was just okay while being overpriced.
Got reservations, checked in. Someone seated us down, and 30 min later, no server came. We asked the server; she said none told them we were here. Then we ordered the food, which took 1 hour to come. The food was cold, and the steak also smelled bad. Then they said, “Okay, we'll give you a salad bc another table lost patience and left before the food came.” We called the manager three times. Finally, he showed up and told us, “Yeah, we will take care of it.” But 15 min later, no action. Our server came and gave us the bill for $9, telling us that's the manager's discount after all this. And hopefully, we will pay her tips. This is the worst experience I have ever had.
Kristy is the best! She is fun, attentive, professional, witty, and entertaining! We go to Kona just to see her! Love her, she is the best ever! If you go to Kona, be sure to request a table in her section!
First time going there, and last. Reservation at 6 pm. Seating was fine by the windows, waiter was very nice. Ordered a couple of drinks that took 15 minutes to arrive. Ordered fish sliders and chicken wraps, which they were out of. Ordered steak fries, with bearnaise sauce. Waiter came by at 7 pm, said kitchen staff was behind. Didn't know how to handle a party, which was about 15 people only. Meal came at 7:15. Steak was cold, fries were cold, bearnaise sauce was not bearnaise sauce. Was like diluted mayo, no taste. Sliders were small. Waiter comped us on the steak, but for the price, was terrible. Waiter was great, food was not. Will not return. Too many other better restaurants in Bridgeport Village. Go there often. Ill stick with one of the many others.
DO NOT eat at Kona Grill. They have beautiful, delicious looking food posted on social media but the food is overpriced and was brought to our table cold after we'd waited 45 minutes. I doubt this restaurant will last as even on Father's Day there were only about 8 tables filled. The portions were small and we had to ask for more water. My mom's salad had almost no dressing on it then she waited about 10 minutes for more after asking for another side of dressing. The server also asked us to stack our dishes for her. If this were a nice place (as it appears on website and socials) she would have walked to the other side of the table to pick up the dishes. I was also given the incorrect food. To add to the experience, there were dead bugs and handprints on the window. DO NOT eat at Kona Grill.
Waited for about 45 minutes to an hour for our food with barely anyone in the restaurant. My husband ordered the eggs Benedict and the eggs were basically hard boiled. Sent it back and i finished my food while my husband waited for his.
Way overpriced, the steaks were dry and cold. The menu was a bit confusing and the waitress had no idea what she was doing and could not clarify. The restaurant was not even a quarter of the way full and we got dinner before appetizers, had to get up from the table to go get our own silverware, salt and pepper, and drinks.
It was my birthday dinner and it was the first time EVERYONE at the table Loved their food!!!
We went there for lunch and when we were ready to order, our server told us that the prep chef has not yet arrived (this is 11:45a) so there is no sushi, which comprises half their menu and which we were going to order. There was no Asian salad (not that many salads on the menu). We ended up having the garden salad w shrimp. There was way too much dressing mixed on the salad. It was a Dijon honey mustard dressing but all I tasted was mayo type dressing! The music on the patio is very loud. This is our second try at Kona Grill. There won't be a 3rd.

Worst experience ever. This is sold as an upscale restaurant with expensive dishes. We waited 45 minutes for our drink. We ended up having to go to the bar to get our drinks. One person ordered fish and chips, but the restaurant was out of tarter sauce. The server said nothing about being/or almost being out of tarter sauce prior to the person ordering the food. I was not expecting to have to wait 1+ hour for my food. By the time we got our food, everything was overpriced and not worth the money. Not only that, but to pay, we had to break up everyone's orders to pay separate (like that at Red Robin), but this is SUPPOSE to be an upscale expensive restaurant. The best part of the night was leaving there and going to get ice cream at Salt n Straw. I will never go back to Kona Grill again!
It took forever to get our food. Not sure what the issue was, because the restaurant was not very crowded. Our server apologized several times for the wait and then brought us a complimentary dessert after our meal. Food was good, but...
2-star food and drink for 5-star price. Even my kiddo commented that it was “underwhelming”. Good service though.
They started out well. Always been overpriced, but at least the food was good. Recently the food was not good, not fresh. The service was terrible - our lunch for 2 people took 2 and half hours (and all we ordered was appetizers!) No manager on site...
I'm sure this place means well, but I've dined here four times and it's 0-for-4. Bad service. Like, epically bad. To the point where I am convinced it's a management issue. No place settings, slow kitchen, slow service... anyone who has worked in a service-industry job is forgiving. But I'm a sucker for giving this place too many chances. It won't survive. I snapped a photo of a nearby table that is sitting with dirty plates on it. Workers keep walking past it. No ownership or pride or protocols. I'm still waiting for napkins. In fact, we're still waiting for food ... it never came. I'm not kidding. I asked the on duty manager for an update and he told me he's quitting because they haven't staffed the restaurant. We walked out and went to CPK. Nobody smiles. Terrible energy. The tables are dirty. The staff is not trained. The food is just ok... when it does come. I had very high hopes for this spot but I have officially given up on it and will never come back. I'd bet against this place surviving. Too many great nearby options.
