I had a cup of the tomatoe basil soup. It was good. But my friend had the cob salad. Too much dressing and half of the avocado was brown. The lettuce didn't seem fresh. Cookies are good.

The food was delicious. This is a place where you order and pay and tip before you get service. The service I received was just okay. My waiter was cool towards me and abrupt. I did not feel welcomed.
I was not offered bread while I waited.
This has happened several times. I have had the same waiter twice now and both times she was not terribly friendly.
The table in front of me was offered bread. I had to ask at the end for bread to go. She immediately got it but I couldn't tell how she picked it up .
It kind of looked like she just grabbed the bread with her hand.
I tipped well but the service I received was not worth the amount I gave. She did the bare minimum and that is not good hospitality.
I always enjoyed eating there until today.

Celebrated my 33rd Wedding Anniversary with my spouse on 8/7/25. We ordered two braised beef sandwiches, a summer special, with a side of chips, the shrimp arugula salad split for two, AND the tasty, but not too sweet bread pudding!!!! OMG😋Soooo DELICIOUS. I gave all of it a 10/10 and will definitely be back to try more food items!!
Caitlin was our server and did a nice job waiting on us and telling us about the Marketplace Cafe!! It is truly a hidden surprise that is WORTH checking out!!!

I visited recently and had the best steak I’ve had in a while. For this month they are featuring a Bebere steak and African fried rice that is so flavorful and tasty. I loved the hospitality, food and energy and look forward to the next special they showcase.

I'm not sure why in my mind I expected a mediocre experience but man was I wrong and glad of it.
My wife and I stopped in for lunch and got the French Dip and Santa Fe Chicken Panini. We split them so we were able to both try two different sandwiches and they were stellar. The French Dip was the best I have ever experienced, even beating my own cooking as well as the Panini brought together flavors in a manner which I had never tried before and it was refreshing. All the wait staff were amazing and some even dressed up for the holiday spirit!
I'd highly recommend to anyone doubting this as being special to give it a try because I believe you'll be happily proven wrong.

Our family always loves eating here!
They just remodeled this place. It is so much brighter and spacious!
If you happen to find yourself in Washington Square, this is literally the best place to eat in the mall! You will not find better (and friendlier) service anywhere! I found out that all of their food is made from scratch every morning in the kitchen!

Absolutely yummy cheeseburger. No fuss- just meat, cheese, and pickles. The side salad with the garlic champagne vinaigrette is amazing. I took a bottle of it to go!
Each person I came in contact with was friendly and helpful, and they even gave me eye contact which is sorely lacking in today’s retail world.
My only complaint is the atmosphere. Please turn down those lights! Too much of a cafeteria vibe and if you took out a few of those light bulbs the charming view of the mall (which is what your seating is catered to) would be more apparent.
I used to dine at the cafe in Corte Madera and the vibe here is the same, just bad lighting.

I have eaten in several cafe's across the country and order the exact same thing and I have had this dish at this Nordstrom several times, the Turkey Club sandwich. It's my go to and have ordered it for years. Either Nordstorm has changed the sandwich for the worse or they were out of or low on ingredients. My lady ordered the pasta and meatballs and the food came out super quick, like never have Nordstrom served food that fast and the lady was like, yeah they were back there waiting. My sandwich was way short on Turkey so either Nordstrom told them to be stingy with it or the chef didn't know how to make it, the avocado had lots of brown spots, the bread was not toasted properly and almost was like it was not toasted at all and lastly, the mayo stuff didn't have any flavor to it at all....again I've had the sandwich a ton of times but that was probably my last time. The bread comes out cold also, but it was good and we had wine.
Parking: Yo, if you park in the covered Nordstrom garage, don't be an idiot trying to fit your big ass SUV that only goes to malls into those small compact spaces. Either go find uncovered parking elsewhere in the mall or take your ass all the way up top where there is usually plenty of parking.

The three stars are only because the complimentary bread and butter were great. Otherwise, the lemon pesto chicken gnocchi was too bland and the water cup I received had a LIPSTICK STAIN on it. I expected a lot more for the $20 lunch and just from Nordstrom all together.

They don’t stand up for their employees at all, they let kids come in without parents and call you like a dog.( here doggie I’m a busser doing what I was hired for and not dealing with the customers for 20 years) Then complain and and get free everything. I’m looking for new employment now before another douchbag comes in.
Delicious bread with tomato soup
