Mike's makes great LOOKING food that has less flavor than freakin' McDonald's sometimes.
And half the time you arrive, they're OUT of whatever you were going to order!!! More than once they've been out of BURGER PATTIES!!!! At a burger restaurant!!!!! 😳 🤷♂️ Or they're pulling a McDee's and they're out of ice cream.
Used to have THE BEST burger and shake in Portland hands down!!!
Now? -- it's a very expensive inconsistent mess that makes Red Robin feel like 5-star burger joint in comparison. And I hate Red Robin.
It's really frustrating. Because Mike's obviously has the basic formula in their hands for an amazing burger place, they used to BE an amazing burger place.
Sometimes, rarely, you get lucky and they still are amazing!
The owner just doesn't give two flying hoots about being consistent and getting in the weeds and innovating ways to keep the standards and quality up I guess -- Mike's has been steadily falling off for 5-6yrs now.
Used to be AMAZING every time... now it's "just okay" about half the time, and bad the other half.
For ~$25/meal plus .40¢ surcharge for a tiny cup of fry sauce... it had better be good EVERY time with better than their usual meh to kinda bad customer service... just like Five Guys is - they charge the $$$ but they're good EVERY time and customer service is great usually.
But I don't want Five Guys. I want Mike's. I just wish someone who cared 20% more owned it.

Mike's is fine. It's not amazing, and I don't really get why people get crazy nostalgic for it. It is decent. But it is pretty spendy for what it all is.
The true beauty of Mike's is that they have a way better than average soft serve cone. The cone has been the perfect blend of value and quality up until recently.
The quality is the same, but I could not possibly be more disappointed that the price went up. I know that inflation is everywhere and that it is really difficult to have margins + All of that.
I'm not naive, but it is disappointing that somehow this kind of sacred experience is also subject to market forces.

First time trying and I'm a fan! I ordered my food through doors dash and it so thoughtfully packaged....my burger was in an insulated wrapper so it was very fresh and hot. The fries were okay. They arent awful but they were a little too squishy for my liking. Kinda like Five Guys fries. The MIKE'S SPECIAL DELUXE is SO WORTH IT. New favorite burger place. Looking forward to seeing them expand their menu (please add onion rings!!)

The food and service are wonderful. The only issue I have is they need to get thicker straws for their shakes. The thin ones they usually have make drinking the shakes way too difficult. But other than that 10/10.

Didn't know what to expect & was pleasantly surprised. No lines for the walk-up window. Fast service. Good ice. Great burgers. Awesome onion rings. Huge ice cream cones! Staff was really friendly & didn't rush us when ordering - especially when we were not sure what we wanted. :) Overall fun experience.
