Every time I passed by Moonlight i kept smelling an amazing grilled meat scent, and I finally got around to get food there and Im sooo happy I did, the owner was delightful and the food was nothing short of delicious.

Loved this place! I’m a longtime Portlander and definitely have had my share of great food in this area. I don’t usually leave reviews but this place needs to be shared about. I’ve never had baklava that I liked or ever wanted to eat…this place has baklava that’s got me craving it! Not to mention it was very kid friendly and they provided fast service.

Y’all- OH. MY. GAWD. We’ve been driving past this place for weeks and finally today, after looking at the reviews, knew we had to try. Wowza is all I can say. We had the hummus, the chicken shawarma sandwich, and two Iraqi bread dishes. NOT A MORSEL IS LEFT! This place is delicious! Run. Don’t walk. 10/10 would recommend. Can’t wait to order again.

We recently dined at Moonlight grill Mediterranean restaurant and had a pleasant experience. Yay! Halal food.
For starters, we ordered the falafel, which was crispy but was mildly undercooked at the center. However, the flavors were good.
For the main course, the beef shawarma was just okay, lacking a bit of the bold flavors we expected. On the other hand, the lamb shank with rice was fantastic—the lamb was tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. It was the highlight of the meal. The soup which came along with the lamb was delicious. My wife's favorite.
The tahini sauce, however, was a bit of a letdown as it was too watery and didn’t have the creamy consistency we typically enjoy. However, the waiter later served us with another cup of tahini which was better.
Overall, the meal had its ups and downs, but the standout lamb shank and the restaurant’s inviting atmosphere earned it a solid 4-star rating. We’d likely return to try more of their dishes.

I've gotten takeout here a few times and everything is so good. The chicken is cooked and seasoned perfectly every time. The side salad is actually good and not soggy; the diced pickles in it are great. The rice is very tasty. Nothing is greasy. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
