Great place for a beverage

This is the account of my experiences at three mermaids, and how my girlfriend and I have been treated by different staff over the past year. Let me start by saying that I am a high school teacher and my girlfriend has been in college for the past year studying public health. We have essentially been kicked out of this establishment permanently for not being of high enough economic status to pay $8+ for beers and $16+ for food, and still leave a $4+ tip afterwards. We have spent over $1000 here in the last year, specifically over the fall months coming here EVERY Sunday for multiple drinks each plus usually food. So I am “entitled” for ordering food (which you say you lose money on), what about the 3+ drinks we usually ordered every Sunday plus whatever our friends would order that we brought in regularly? You want to post my receipts? Please do, every receipt from last fall. And then please post your profit margins on a glass of beer so we can see across $1000+ how much money you have made off my girlfriend and I.

Sunday became a day we always looked forward to because there was always a staff member there who called us “dear” and “hun” and treated us like family. She was also in school and we would ask about her studies and had fun connecting with her. And we tipped her as much as we could after spending so much on drinks and food. Want to know why Amy and Kayla didn’t get more than $1 tips from us? Because you both create a horribly negative atmosphere for customers. You never have a smile on your faces and act as though customers are a burden. There are very few places we have ever experienced service that feels so gloomy, it’s as if you do not enjoy your jobs. You may want to read through your other 1 star reviews, because there seems to be a pattern. And yet we are regulars at quite a few spots, and have never been removed or treated remotely as poorly.

The burden of customer service is on you, not on us. You have made my girlfriend feel unsafe to ever come back here, even on Sundays to see our favorite waitress again. You have also made me feel uncomfortable. I would take a hard long look at yourselves before stooping so low as to insulting and alienating guests who have made your taphouse our regular place to enjoy the football season and other random afternoons. We will never come back here and encourage others to do the same so as to avoid being subject to the same treatment one day.

One of my go to spots! :)

Absolutely our favorite restaurant in the Portland metro area. The food is top quality, the service is stellar, and the dining experience is top notch! Highly recommend—I can’t say enough good things about this establishment!

This place is so unassuming, but seems to just do everything well. The food isn't your fusion PDX mind blowing experience. It's food done well. Sliders? Great. Fries? Perfect. Quesadilla? Full and flavorful. Beer list? Deep and varied.

This is a great spot that has a cozy atmosphere and great craft beer. That's not to mention the food which is affordable and delicious. I had the wings which are smokey and exactly what I needed. Just be careful, I was on the last wing and not ready to stop and chomped down on my finger thinking it was that last tasty morsel.

The wings are so good you'll eat your own fingers!

We love Three Mermaids! Good selection of rotating beers. Always several food and drink specials. They smoke their meats in house and have an amazing nacho. Always had good experiences with the staff.
