My husnband and I got hash browns that were so greasy they were inedible and our starlight omelet had raw eggs in it. After our waitress Trista who was absolutely wonderful put our order in she had to go find the cook. It 15 minutes before he even started cooking our food. We will not be eating at Starlight again.

My waitress Trista was absolutely amazing, she is so kind and caring, after she put my order in she rang the bell. The cook was outside for over 15 minutes before my waitress had to go get him. Food was okay, but my waitress was probably one of the best I've had in years. It's hard to find a good waitress anymore

Tonight I was in the starlight cafe and the waitress was helping customers that just came in and there were a couple lady's there eating and one of them broke there cup and spilled her coffie, and the nice waitress stoped helping her new customers and took the lady some towels and wiped off the table and went to go back to helping the other customers. the lady that spilt her coffie evidently thought the waitress should have had her clothes drycleand because she was mad and I bealive the waitress done plenty. It's impossible to do your job and keep everyone happy. Thumbs up to the waitress.

Food is decent, atmosphere is nice, unfortunately management can't seem to handle a simple refund after they fail to update their hours on Square. Not gonna see me spend a dime here or Mals, same owner, again.

Clean little place except for the flies 😳 Waited over TWO HOURS for food, and waitress wasn’t real friendly until about an hour in, when she let us know they were missing their cook. When the food came, it wasn’t even what I’d ordered, but was asked if that was okay.???? Actually no, it wasn’t, but by then we’d waited almost 2 hours. The salad brought out had a lot of wilted lettuce. Then I didn’t get my hamburger steak, I got a little bit of thinly sliced tough roast beef, and some watery‘potatoes’ ??? (questionable ). Didn’t want to wait 2 more hours for nothing, so choked through it while keeping the flies off us, and beat feet out of there. Unfortunately Bale is tiny and we knew nowhere else to go. Cute place, just needs help in there! IF we ever go to the Twilight Zone again, which I doubt, we won’t be going there.
Confessions And Lessons
All the food comes from a box. The cusine is flat and void of flavor and presentation. Who has a full bar at a diner? What happened to the ice cream? The atmosphere looks like a Pinterest board for the criminally bland. The cooks are less than hygienic, you can smell them as they pass by.
Definitely not what it used to be and it is very disappointing.
2/10 would recommend.

A few days late in posting this but we stopped here on our way through town a couple of days ago. Very welcoming little small town diner. Service was awesome (thanks Trish!) and the steak was AMAZING. Cooked to perfection on little cast iron sizzle pans and the seasoning was perfect, which most places struggle with. (Thanks Braydenn)!

Had to wait almost an hour for a burger with fries and hot roast beef with fries. Cooks were in the back visiting with each other and the service out front was almost non existent.People came in after us got their food before us. Hot roast beef was not very good and the seasoning on the fries was not good. If your on a time constraint this place is not very fast at all. I've stopped here years ago and it was good, guess that is over!
