We stumbled upon this place a couple years ago everything we got was awesome. We are going on another road trip in a couple weeks and are adding a day to our travels so we can swing in again!

The homemade bread is EXCELLENT! Always good never a miss. For some reason the cookies are always hard and dry, we try them over and over thinking it’s just a fluke but it’s not.

Couldn't find online if they opened at 8 or 9. Tried calling several times before driving the hour, but no one ever answered. Similar to the last review, we arrived and waited to be seated. Even making eye contact several times before finally being offered a seat after we approached a staff member. The restaurant was empty. Although signs on both doors stated to wear masks, no one was. Food was ok. Biscuits and gravy were very light on gravy, so biscuits were quite dry. Paid extra for fruit compote and it didn't even cover the 1 pancake. French bread was good, but full order is more like 4 pieces than 2. Too much to eat. Coffee did stay full tho. Went to use bathroom before leaving and no soap in women's restroom. They sell soap on site! Service was friendly enough, but had to remind them of items several times. Then they became busy with bakery/ice cream and we had to track them down for bill. Probably would not return.

This place was a great pit stop on our way back into town. They have fresh baked goods, coffee/tea, homemade soaps etc. and lots of other products. The huckleberry muffin and raspberry scone were 10/10 and we can’t wait to try our garlic cheddar jalapeño bread! Will definitely be back!

I like to consider myself a pie expert and the cherry peach pie was amazing. One of the best I've had in a while.Their scented soaps were also very lovely.

Sign said "wait to be seated". We waited, had three employees walk past us without any acknowledgement or even a glance. Stood there waiting for about 10 minutes, finally left. Also noted only two tables in the restuarant, and were seated right next to one another, no social distancing. My second time there, the first time they were out of eggs, hashbrowns, fries....wont be returning again. Need to learn customer service.

This is the only restaurant around for area elk hunters. And it is nice casual atmosphere with lots of electric outlets for me to get some business done there as well. It was my second home during my hunt. I mostly got breakfasts which were served quite late I think until 11:00 am. Good omelettes. Friendly staff but kinda slow service. But hey it’s a resort area. Things are relaxed here.

My husband and I had just hiked the Middle Ridge Trail with my friend who lives in a nearby town. She suggested that we were so close to the Alpine Outpost we just had to stop in to check it out and have lunch as she had been there often. Such a pleasant surprise to find a very cheerful woman greeting us and serving us our meal. That day the lunch special was a "Thanksgiving meal" which included "real turkey with mashed potatoes and real gravy along with stuffing and corn". It sounded like so much food but my friend and I decided to split an order. To our surprise it came already split and still was so much food I could not finish it. It definitely was a gourmet meal done just perfect. The place was busy and the server was very pleasant. I highly recommend a stop by and try anything on the menu there. A side note: We did purchase an apple pie to take with us. I am very particular about pie crust. This pie crust was made with Palm Shortening. All of us thought the pie crust was lacking in flavor. The apple filling was delicious though with just the right touch of sweetness. I would not purchase again.

Amazing must stop dining hideaway! We started our experience with Lattes (see photo) and tap beer. Excellent! We ordered off the menu and all our orders were well prepared. Also, all the pies and fudge are homemade and a must with hard ice cream. Overall, this location receives my highest recommendation.
