The food is so good but the female worker who takes order is so unpleasant, she needs to change careers

I’ve been coming here since the fork first opened. I love their taco plate that comes with a drink. The food is always really good. But within the last couple months they’ve hired a new female worker who is extremely unfriendly. It’s gotten to the point where I will not get food from Mr. compadres if she is working. Which is a shame.

Food is good. But they don’t understand English at all. Messed up the whole order because they couldn’t understand what I ordered. Horrible experience. Food is not worth the price or service.

Mr Compadre (aka Señor Buddy) is part of an impressive parque de carritos in Fairview called the Fairview Fork. The facility includes ample indoor and outdoor seating, a full bar, and even a stage for karaoke et al.

To the tacos, though. The carnitas tacos were delicious, everything sparkling fresh and the meat itself a mix of crisped edges and unctuous tender bits. I appreciated the radishes and plentiful lime wedges.

The unexpected highlight here was the chile toreado. In my experience this is usually a deep fried whole chile. At Mr Compadre they split a large jalapeño and sear it on the plancha with some onion petals and plenty of salt. The chile and onions soak up the glaze left by the carnitas. It was easily the best tasting chile toreado I’ve had, and now I am curious how widely their preparation differs. I guess I am fixing to find out.

Was in the area decided to give it a try.
Food was delicious I got the taquitos al pastor and wow it’s amazing! Defiantly recommend. I will defiantly be driving the 30 minutes to get that again. Horchata was ok not too sweet but I would get it again. Hubby got the wet burrito said it was delicious. And got champurrado and he finished all of it so I assume it was good lol. Also the gentleman working there was super nice. Good service.

We ordered 20 tacos. Spent $57 and they had a sign out “buy 6 tacos get 1 free soda”. We got our tacos and asked about getting a free soda. We specifically just asked for 1 sprite. The worker said no that’s only if you buy 6 tacos. ? the heck?! We bought 20!!! That was seriously disappointing and poor customer service. I wish they would’ve shown appreciation for our large order. Also, we had 4 boxes of tacos and we got like 2 like wedges.

If you are looking for mexican nachos and Carne asada fries avoid this place. Nacho cheese and canned jalapeños make it more like cheap carnival nachos than anything

They no longer make their own soft and hard tortillas. It always took alittle longer to get the food, but it was worth it when they made their own tortillas. I ordered 6 hard and 1 soft tacos last week and the tortillas were definitely store bought. They were cold, gross, stale and way too perfectly circular to be fresh made. Definitely came from a store. The reason I loved the place was for the fresh homemade hard and soft tortillas, but they stopped doing that.
