“This place is super fun if you’re just trying to chill and gamble. It stays open longer than most places. The other night it was like 2 AM and there were a lot of ppl still there, I finally had my turn at a machine and it immediately paid me out around$1000. Service is also excellent I haven’t tried the food though.”

“Mr Compadre (aka Señor Buddy) is part of an impressive parque de carritos in Fairview called the Fairview Fork. The facility includes ample indoor and outdoor seating, a full bar, and even a stage for karaoke et al.

To the tacos, though. The carnitas tacos were delicious, everything sparkling fresh and the meat itself a mix of crisped edges and unctuous tender bits. I appreciated the radishes and plentiful lime wedges.

The unexpected highlight here was the chile toreado. In my experience this is usually a deep fried whole chile. At Mr Compadre they split a large jalapeño and sear it on the plancha with some onion petals and plenty of salt. The chile and onions soak up the glaze left by the carnitas. It was easily the best tasting chile toreado I’ve had, and now I am curious how widely their preparation differs. I guess I am fixing to find out.

“Joy Teriyaki is bomb dot com! It’s always cooked fresh and full of flavor. Portion sizes are always huge for the Chicken Yakisoba. Haven’t had any issues. Nobody in there around 11:30am for pick up. Plenty of parking outside. Tables are always clean and wiped down. Family loves the food too!”
