Sewards Steak shop has been open for nearly 70 years and for good reason. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The portion sizes are incredible and the side dishes are fantastic. The Cheesesteaks are by far the best in the area . SMP Deli (8.5/10) and Zandys (9/10) are good but they just can’t compare to Sewards. Robust yet delicate hoagie rolls packed with tender steak, delicious onions, and fresh vegetables bursting with flavor . This is the only cheesesteak place for me !

We just enjoyed a delicious cheesesteak to go from this corner eatery. The fresh bread contained a very generous amount of juicy beef with a tasty sauce. Top off your meal with a slice of their awesome chocolate cake. To die for. Very friendly folks that we enjoyed talking to while our food was prepared.

I went there once with my dad who was a regular there. I was treated with great respect. I love the food . The next two times I went I walked out without food. I walked in the first time and even though I was there before people behind me they were regulars. They had their food and I still wasn't even greeted. The next time I sat at the bar the person waited about every table and never came over to me. Each time I was there over 20 minutes without anybody greeting me but people who walked in behind me that they knew by name were waited on immediately. If Don't treat new people good than you won't have any new regulars. I can assure you I will not be one

First time visiting. Large portions. My turn off was the new lady not wearing gloves making food and handling money. I asked for a California cheesesteak and hots fried onions and moay I didnt get any of that. Was grossed out about the no gloves and no hair net as she pushed her bangs out of her face and also had nails. She never washed her hands. I saw the man maybe owner take two pieces of rye out of a bag no gloves and swipe mayo on them. After cleaning tables never once did I see hand washing.
