This was the first time trying the cookies. They just so happened to be at McGee hospital today. And my lucky day I was also there. Ended up buying pumpkin gobbs, browooki?, lady locks and a slice of pumpkin roll. Your cookies are absolutely delicious. Wish I I'm lived closer to the bakery, they would be a definite weekly stop for me. Great job and continued success.

I normally don't write reviews for much of anything, but I was so pleased with what I ordered I wanted to for this one. I wanted to order a cupcake cake for my birthday in the shape of a magnifying glass since my birthday party was a scavenger hunt. I reached out over Facebook messenger and the person I talked to answered my questions and asked her own in a timely and professional manner. When I ordered the cake, I included a picture of what I wanted the inside of the magnifying glass to look like. The cake was ready the day they said it would be, it didn't just look like I wanted, but BETTER than pictured. So it looks great, but did the taste hold up? YES! The cupcakes were moist and tasty, and the icing was delicious. I will be telling everyone about this place and will certainly return.

Highly recommend this incredible Bakery - love that it's family owned and the service was amazing! The raspberry filled cakes are my fav & if you like peanut butter...you will be OBSESSED with the saucepans - they are so incredibly good! They also have the most delicious buckeyes ! Will be back for more soon!! xx

What a gem of a family-owned bakery!
I stopped in after hearing rave reviews..and after spotting their desserts at places like Market District Giant Eagle. I picked up the coconut macaroons and blondies, and wow… the only way to describe the flavor is addictive!

The coconut macaroons were light, airy, and perfectly balanced with toasted coconut and just the right touch of chocolate. The blondies were rich, flavorful, and incredibly fresh. Each bite was layered with texture and taste.

Whether you’re craving a sweet treat or looking to order in bulk for a party or event, I highly recommend A Sweet Morsel. A true 10/10!

I love this bakery! My 30th birthday cake was made here and it was as delicious inside as beautiful outside! Friendly service and turn over time exceptional! Will definitely be ordering again.

I recently ordered a gluten free cake from A Sweet Morsel for my birthday. I was delighted that this bakery offered gluten free, custom decorated cakes at a very reasonable price point. Not many places in Pittsburgh do!

TLDR: the few design elements I wanted were poorly executed, and the cake itself was rubbery and did not taste good. The customer service I received through the ordering process was (mostly) good.

The ordering process: I sent the bakery an email with my desired design- a single tier cake with black frosting and decorated with sage green leaves/vines and dark red roses placed sporadically an the top and sides of the cake. I also requested “XXV” be written on top of the cake in gold frosting in a small font (about 0.75” tall). Casey promptly called me back to discuss options that would make this possible. Chocolate frosting could be dyed black, they could do the vines, but the roses would probably fall off due to the consistency of the frosting this bakery uses. Additionally, they did not have any way to make the golden frosting, and it would have to be yellow. I really appreciated Casey’s transparency with what was achievable, though I was a little disappointed by the limitations of this bakery since they do so many custom cakes. Regardless, I was able to easily place my order on their website after consulting with Casey, who offered to take the order over the phone as well.

Scheduling Pickup: I had originally scheduled the pickup for 2 PM. The morning of pickup, I called them and asked if, by any chance, the cake could be ready at noon, if not, it would be no big deal and 2 would be fine since that was what was originally agreed upon and it was late notice. They said it could be ready a bit after noon, so I really appreciated their flexibility on the matter. A few minutes later, they called me to say that they had forgotten to bake half my cake, and that it would be ready at 2. This was a little disappointing, but hey, at least I was getting a very fresh cake!

The pickup: I had a family member pick up the cake so I can’t comment on this.

The decorations: I was very disappointed with the look of the cake. The green leaves were more of a mint color rather than dark green, and the writing in yellow on top was much larger than I requested. I was able to add the fresh roses and gold luster dust to fix it up, but with so few elements, I was disappointed with the look.

The taste of the cake: if all of this had happened but the cake was delicious, I would not be writing this review. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst gluten free cakes I’ve ever had. The chocolate frosting was nearly flavorless, there was hardly any of the raspberry filling in it at all, and the cake itself was rubbery and tasteless. If you would have told me the cake was stale, I would have believed you. Considering that (at least half of) this cake was freshly made just hours before, this is likely attributed to a poor recipe and/or incorrect baking times.

While I can’t attest to the quality of their gluten-containing baked goods, I would not recommend a gluten free cake from this bakery.

I ordered custom cookies online for delivery on May 22 for my daughter's graduation party which was on May 24. The order form specifically asked the date on which they needed to be delivered so this led me to believe the company makes it a priority to meet this expectation. Especially considering they provide products for special occasions. On May 23, the cookies had not been delivered so I disputed the charge on credit card as the company did not email me a tracking number of any sort. The cookies arrived AFTER all of our guests departed. I considered donating them but after trying the cookies I discovered they were as hard as a rock. Literal hockey pucks! This company rejected my request for a refund. Do not do business with this company!!!!!

Responding to the owner: These were ordered 3 weeks in advance of my party date which was disclosed to your company. NOT TO MENTION the cookies were hard and not in any way edible! I would feel better about the situation if I could have donated them since they didn't arrive in time for our party. However, they had to go straight to the trash because I nearly broke my teeth trying to bit into one. It's disappointing and bad business that you are unwilling to offer even a partial refund!

I bought some chocolate chip cookies as a treat at Magee Hospital after a good oncologist visit. They were the best chocolate chips both my husband and I ever had!!! I am so glad we live close to their store because I will definitely be gettin more baked goods from them!!

Mother in law purchased a selection of GF items for mother's day and most were so disappointing including this very underbaked cookie. I will say the small GF chocolate cake was good but everything else went uneaten

They just reopened today and still managed to get my order filled. Can’t thank them enough. Their lemon raspberry cupcakes are the best!!!

I’ve ordered cakes here for multiple birthday parties (signature cakes and custom cakes). I’ve never been disappointed, and guests always say how tasty it is! They also have gluten free options, which is nice when you know you have gluten free guests coming.
