North Park Boathouse

It's been quite a while since I've been in North Park. But I have spent a lot of time in my past in that park. I always felt like the lake was a total waste because they never used it for anything. Well times have changed there were so many kayaks canoes and paddle boards on the lake, it was amazing. I happened to go there with my senior group and we went at the invitation of Venture Outdoors who has a concession for renting out kayaks and other watercraft. We were extremely lucky that day, they fed us and anybody was able to go out for free on their boats. I certainly will go back someday on my own.

Love north park, the trails the views but this house is not a boat. Snarf! Iconic Pittsburgh go if you haven't been and go if you're around the area anytime of year is great!

The restaurant never answers their phone. EVER! The food was pretty expensive and it took over 40 minutes for it to be served. It was cold by the time we got it. The boat rental was very expensive. $28 for an hour is a lot when you can just buy a SUP or
Kayak for under $150. The launch deck was covered in a thick layer of geese poop. The workers down by the water were too busy on their phones to pay attention to you or answer any questions. If you bring your own boat, they won't let you use the deck, which is very inconvenient if you are trying to launch with someone who rented. They let you use the geese poop covered concrete area, but there is no slope down and it's difficult to get on the board or boat there. Especially with small children. We will not be coming back.

Not allowed to have dogs in any of the outdoor seating area. What a loss of business. There are so many of us with our dogs in the park.

The bar area smelled terrible, like dirty feet. I ordered food to go and the waitress was rude when I asked about the menu. The Bartender who took my order didn’t know the menu and originally told me they didn’t have the appetizer I wanted to order, however it was clearly posted on the menu in the restaurant & online. I ordered one menu item and it was not what I expected, missing ingredients and the presentation was if a child made my order. The cost is overpriced and you don’t get a lot of food, definitely don’t get what you pay for. I tried to call the restaurant twice to speak to the Manager after I got home and of course nobody answered the phone, no surprise. I waited forever to get my order and I was very disappointed after I got home and opened up the bag. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Poor service and definitely not a good dining experience. If I had actually spoke to a Manager I would have asked for a refund as my order was about $20 for one appetizer.

An iconic boathouse that's a staple of North Park. It offers a lot ranging from boat rentals to picturesque views on a beautiful day.

Great food and great service!

Usually we like this place. Food is good and wait staff is friendly. Unfortunately this afternoon for lunch a buddy and I sat at the bar because seating was a wait. Male bartender IGNORED us completely for 10 minutes! Not even an acknowledgment that he saw us. So we left and went to Cadence in the pro bike and run store. Really good pulled pork sandwich and friendly staff. Probably won't be visiting this place any more.
