Was the best italian food in Altoona but it has slipped a little in quality lately.

Lena's is delicious. There is a reason why it's been a family restaurant but after the brothers passed away it lost some of that family appeal. Nobody knows your name anymore. It was awesome 24 years ago and it's still ok now. ?

Family of 9 visiting from NY and Philly. They thought the chicken parm was best ever!! Salads fresh. Thank you for helping to entertain us.

We tried this place out for the first time as someone had recommended it. We got served drinks quickly, our orders taken quickly, and food came out fast. We immediately had tasty, fresh bread put on the table. However, our server never checked on us once we got our food. Saying the food was tasteless is an understatement. I don’t think they even use salt or pepper in anything, let alone any other seasonings. Each of our meals were served with a salad, which was wilted iceberg lettuce, a couple cherry tomatoes, and the house “Italian” dressing. I put Italian in quotations, as Italian dressing should have seasonings, which it did not. Our meals were both made with a tasteless red sauce and her stuffed shells were cold. The gnocchi were a nice, fluffy, pillowy consistency, but were also made without any seasoning, including salt. We definitely would not go back.

Classic Mom and Pop Italian food in a charmingly austere setting. Don't waste your time with expensive bistros or national chain restaurants: Lena's is authentic, flavorful, and filling.

I have never eaten here, but have gotten take out many times. Their food is better and more delicious than Italy. The veal parm, stuffed shells and gnocchi are my fav’s, so delicious! The coconut cream pie is to die for! Best Italian food I’ve ever had!
