Service was ok. They only had one person working the counter and kitchen but he took care of us really well. The Italian subs and stromboli were dynamite. Simply prepared but the flavors were great.Kid-friendliness: Brought the family in for a nice Sunday afternoon lunch. Place was nice and very clean.

I miss the old Nardo's. No alcohol sales here. I believe they sold it to Sheetz. Good spicy cheese balls.

The turkey hogie was a game changer. I've never had one prepared that way. The balsamic vinaigrette was unexpected. I wouldn't have ordered it that way, but I'm so glad I wasn't really aware of what I was getting. It was tasty and made me wish I'd ordered that larger size. The building is plain, but the owner/chef is doing things right. I'll return when I'm back in the area. Maybe I'll try the special hot wings. They signed like a challenge, but delicious.

This place is an absolute staple in Altoona. If you are a fan of Italian subs, this is your place. I don't know how they'd do it but the way they mix the lettuce up with the house dressing before they put it on the sub is a complete game changer. The interior and environment is a little funky but totally worth the food like 10 times over.We literally never make a trip to Altoona without stopping at Nardos! Suggest you do the same ?

Have been a customer for ever. The food has just gone down hill. We have just decided we are done with expecting things to get better while consistently getting bad food

Tonight, my son, husband and I came strolling in at 750ish, almost closing time.. normally closing time people want to get out.. instead we were welcomed with smiling faces, and hi!! My son was in his football uniform, and they even made conversation with him. It's so nice to be WELCOMED with arms wid open instead of being shut down. Not only did we make conversation, they had a phone call right after 8 pm AND THEY EVEN TOOK THEIR ORDER!!!!! HOW COOL!! Love Nardos, and the employees they are absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!!!! 10 OUT OF 10!!!!!
Very good food and the staff are very friendly. The inside now has skills machines. The upstairs is no longer open

I will forever love this place! Every time I visit home, we stop at Nardos. I've got my husband hooked. Ever since we started dating, it's been his fav spot and that was almost ten years ago! Nardos is one of those places were you can go have a beer with a friend and get some pizza or grab take out and it tastes just the same! We love their buffalo chicken salads, thats usually our go to!

We were in Altoona for the evening on our way to Erie and stopped by around 7:30 for a quick dinner. The owner and his staff were very friendly and I thought it was awesome that they took orders all the way up to closing time at 8. We got a pizza steak sub and fries, I've never had one like it and I'm obsessed. The marina and cheese covered steak was topped with lettuce, tomato, raw onion and a balsamic dressing that was to die for, definitely took the sub to the next level. The plate of fries were fresh cut and large enough to feed a family of 4. The restaurant was spacious and clean with a really cool video game table/console in the center. I also thought it was cool how the owners had assigned each menu item bat codes that employees simply scan when ringing up, very efficient. It's a shame we live 3 hours away, this place would be our go to for subs.
