The Atmosphere here at Port Sky Cafe is nothing short of electric. To my knowledge, Port Sky is in the conversation for the top culinary atmosphere in Altoona. That being said, this review is mainly carried by the Chefs Table, which at times performs well above standard. Recent findings have drawn attention to the ‘Create Your Own Ice Cream’ option available at the kiosks. Very exciting. The inconsistency from Port Sky’s ratings are derived from the breakfast station, where they fail to accommodate the influx of students from the 9-10am window. Personally, I have found myself waiting for a breakfast sandwich upwards of 25 minutes. While I consider myself a patient person, 25 minutes is a tough sell on a busy morning. I would advise those reading this review to utilize the Penn State Eats app (available on the google play and App Store) to order your food ahead to combat this travesty. In summary, while the food is commonly a hit or miss, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more unique experience surrounding your meal.
Well… I will admit my hopes for Port Sky overall were extremely high, as the atmosphere here is absolutely grandiose. These hopes, however, were completely crushed when I waited 35 minutes for French toast sticks and bacon. Port sky is the kind of place that has a ridiculous amount of potential, but seems to be held back by the daily operations and the system the workers unfortunately have to deal with. I would highly recommend the ice cream as my colleague Matt Beaulieu has suggested in a previous review, along with “All Fired Up”. Port Sky offers some decent food, but absolutely could be much better. In conclusion, The Port Sky Cafe is a place with an incredibly electric atmosphere, but the other shortcomings frequently leave me wishing I just went to Sheetz instead.

The dining hall offers a mixed bag of experiences. On one hand, the service leaves much to be desired—staff often seem unmotivated and inattentive, which can make getting even the simplest requests met feel like a challenge. As for the food, it falls squarely in the realm of mediocrity: while it’s edible and occasionally satisfying, don’t expect anything memorable or particularly fresh. However, the atmosphere is where this place shines. It has a lively, electric vibe that creates a sense of energy and community. If you’re looking for a place to soak in a buzzing environment, this might be its saving grace. Overall, the dining hall is functional but far from exceptional, relying on its atmosphere to overshadow its shortcomings.
Great food and great staff love the online MTO platform which is quick and easy to

Port Sky is the Pinnacle of College dinning. If you don’t like it your soft.
This place is disgusting, it’s dirty, there’s dust on the lights and under the machines that clearly never get moved. The food is terrible, it’s undercooked and the food legitimately makes me sick on a regular basis and it honestly should be reported to a health inspector. Whoever runs it should be ashamed of running this dining hall. It’s so bad I wanna give it a zero, but that’s not possible, so I give it a one.
Very impressed by the selection and quality of the food and staff. Would love to try some of the other options when school starts
Nice place to chill and grab something to eat.
