Went here for an anniversary. Architecture was pretty. Has a Renaissance-ish style. It is a bit echoey and the furniture arrangement could have been better, but is definitely a place worth checking out. There aren’t too many places this nice in the area and a lot of the value is in the atmosphere.
The staff was friendly. We had Devon serve us.
The food offerings were relatively simple and pricy. It was cooked in a way that the ingredients spoke for themselves. I had a steak and my wife had salmon.

Absolutely atrocious service. We made a reservation for an important birthday. Showed up for our reservation and were told they didn’t have it on their books because they got busy and took on 2 large parties so reservation was removed. Shame on them. Maddie was terrible. She took the reservation at 2 pm for 6 pm and then stated that yes we spoke to her but they got busy. Will not be coming back. We were not offered any compensation and informed it would be at least an hours wait if we wanted a table or we could just go somewhere else. With customer service like this I can’t imagine how they survive. The audacity. You could have called to inform us, tried to make it right on the spot or at least been apologetic, but to initially try to pretend you didn’t take the reservation and play it off like we were in the wrong was disgusting. You can’t admit something is your fault and not even offer an apology. Shame on you.

I am not usually an eat out type of person, my circumstances have changed. I found myself in need of someone else's cooking! I had the filet mignon, cooked to perfection, baked potato, vegetables w/garlic sauce and added a cobb salad!. Everything was great and I have plenty for another meal tomorrow!. Great service and company.

Food was good, but didn't wow me. Dessert was fabulous. Atmosphere and service were great. Went for our anniversary dinner, would go again.

Devon was our server and he nailed it!!! I had the fish tacos. They were amazing. The other two had cheese steak sandwich and crab cake sandwich. We were all happy with our choices . Go see Devon he will take great care of you.
Looking for a high-end restaurant experience, food was excellent, well-prepared. We were there on a rainy weeknight. If there is a crowd, would probably be quite noisy due to the echo from the hard surfaces.

Like every review the situation and conditions vary. For our group (2 happily married couples) the Stone Cellar was really good. We had reservations, so there was no wait. We did not get appetizers, instead had some drinks while conversing. The service was very good. To be honest, the food was much better than expected for Altoona. The deserts also very good. We were all shocked how great the night turned out for our 1st ever visit. Maybe we were lucky and hit the Stone Cellar on a good night but driving home we absolutely have decided we will be going back after our experience. Our total cost was $120 (included 2 filet dinners, one desert, and 4 mixed drinks).
Oh, and my wife would like me to add the bathrooms were exceptionally clean and well sized and private!

If I'm being honest, I was underwhelmed. The atmosphere was great, but the food was not as good as I was hoping. My husband LOVED the scallops, but my alfredo was not the best. I would probably want to try something different next time. I had my eye on that lobster ravioli.

My husband and I had an absolutely amazing experience dining at Stone Cellar Restaurant in Altoona. Every single dish we tried was beyond incredible. You can truly taste the passion and creativity in every bite - the chefs are exceptionally talented.
We want to give a huge thank you to Sous Chef Russell, who was working the day we visited. His talent completely blew us away. The creativity, flavor, and precision in each dish were extraordinary. He’s truly gifted, and our experience was unforgettable because of him.
The servers who took care of us were also so kind, thoughtful, and attentive, making the entire evening even more special. Every detail in this restaurant - from the atmosphere to the presentation - is done with such care and excellence. We were honestly blown away.
If we could give it an 11 out of 10, we would in a heartbeat. Stone Cellar is a must-visit. We would go back so many times just because of Russell - he made the entire experience unforgettable.
