Food and service were excellent and it felt like an old school local diner. If you're in the area, stop in. You won't regret it.

I was told about this place by a lot of people. I have always known it to be there but had never been there. I looked it up on google and it prompts you to place an online order but when you go through with the order and try to submit it tells you that system is not available. What a waste of my time.

I just saw a fb post on Tom and Joe’s page and forgot that I never left a review. I was there for work for two months back in 2021. I’m sure it hasn’t changed. Awesome diner and awesome food. I just wish they weren’t two hours away. I’d never have to cook breakfast again. Lol

Went a few months ago, found hair in food so I won't go back. Something like that kind of ruins the experience. The kitchen people really should wear hair nets...

I took a day trip Altoona on a Saturday morning and made my way to Tom & Joe's for breakfast and a much-needed cup of coffee. Tom & Joe's is a nice corner local eatery, with a neighborhood diner feel. I ordered the Breakfast Special #9 which is two eggs, home fries, choice of toast, and scrapple or corned beef hash. I've been wanting to try scrapple for a while so the #9 was my chance. This was good diner food, and the coffee hit the spot after my early morning start. The scrapple had a very slight pork taste and was very soft texture wise. It's not meaty like a sausage patty, texture wise like a very soft slice of Spam. I've had goetta in Cincinnati, and in my opinion the goetta has a bit more substance than scrapple. The cooks online definitely know what they're doing. My wheat toast was very generously slathered with butter and went really well with the rest of the food. The restaurant was crowded when I got there, and after a little wait I was able to get a seat at the counter since I was alone and didn't need a table. If you're in the area and looking for a local place that serves good food, Tom & Joe's is a good pick. I walked straight from the Amtrak station (about 5 minutes) and had no problem finding Tom & Joe's.

Breakfast was delicious. My husband has a very filling omelet and I ate the Belgian waffle 🧇 with strawberries 🍓. My coffee cup was always full. Thanks Tom & Joe's for the best meal we had while visiting the Altoona area.

Great old time diner w lots of personality. Servers have been there for years and make you feel welcome there. Drove two hours to go there w a friend for lunch. Had a blast there. Good comfort food. Small town feel. Loved it.
