This place is a jewel in the rough!I've been getting ribs, chicken and brisket from here for almost 40 years. I've never had any better barbecue these guys know what they're doing! Even the barbecue sauce is to die for!!My only complaint is that they're not open year-round LOL :-)
Overall from my first experience, I found the food to be average. I ordered half rack of regular pork ribs and 3 sides. The ribs were good. It came with 2 sauces which were very good. The mac n cheese was mushy pasta; the collar greens were bland; and the potato salad was OK. This is strictly a take-out joint in VFW lodge with zero atmosphere. The cost for my dinner was $37. It would have been $43 if they had the sweet potato pie. I thought the dinner was pricey for what I received....
It's set up like a roadside BBQ in the parking lot of the VFW. I don't care, the ribs are the best. They're only open Friday and Saturday from 12-5. Go early or call ahead! They sell out often!
