My wife and I used to dine at high end restaurants in center city and hot spot neighborhoods only to realize how pretentious they are. I guess we sorta grew up in foodie years. We settled on focusing more on dining at more locally owned neighborhood spots that may be overlooked. Ambler is one of the areas that we decided to patronize and tonight we dined at Mary “ named after Mary Ambler” My wife had the swordfish entree and I the pork chop entree. Both were exceptional as was the wait staff. The menu changes monthly with the steak and burger options being the mainstays. Hats off to the Chef.

From the moment you walk into this gem in Ambler you are warmly welcomed by Jessica with a smile. We were sat at bar and had the treat of watching a well oiled culinary machine work their Gastro magic. Chef Chad came over to welcome us as well, being our first time at The Mary. The expertly executed menu delightfully changes monthly but from start to finish the experience was amazing. It’s a BYOB So please bring your favorite wine and the staff are more than happy to uncork and serve. Intimate, friendly, delicious and truly a wonderful experience! It’s on our list of keepers and surely we will be back again and again.

Mary’s in Ambler is a gem. We had a large party for my partner's birthday, and despite the small space, they were incredibly accommodating. The chef even checked in with us, which was such a nice touch.
Great variety of appetizers, solid vegetarian options, and their steak frites lived up to the hype. I got the CheeseBurger, which was massive and juicy, and honestly I'm still thinking about it. Bonus: BYOB. Highly recommend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great vibe, excellent service and delicious food. Two of us had the burger, cooked to perfection, one had the steak and one the catfish. All gobbled up! 😂. Wish we had took for the desserts which we saw pass by. Chef stopped to ask us how things were and say thanks for coming. All the staff went out of their way to be attentive and helpful. Will be back to check out new items on menu.

The service by Jessie was great and the food was wonderful. We had the Baked Brie Pâte à Choux to start, which was a great autumn appetizer. I had the Steak Frites Au Poivre medium rare, which had an excellent texture and taste. We finished with the Hazelnut Financier, I would definitely get dessert here every time. 100% recommend and will be back
