We enjoyed another excellent meal at Planchette on Mother's Day. The food and service was excellent. My only complaint was that the music was too much for this already packed restaurant on this particular evening. It would be better, in my opinion, not to have. The music when the restaurant is full. I also get that we were a bit squished into a corner by the window

It's a no for me. Tried 7 different dishes among my table and it just tasted bland and okay. Was hoping for something a bit more elegant, tasty and classy for a $50 prefix brunch.

My fiancée and I just paid over $100 for the WORST meal either of us has ever had at a "nice" restaurant! I have never so viscerally hated, Hated, HATED a meal! Nearly every step had something wrong.

I had the burger Rossini while my family had the rack of lambs. Burgers were cooked to as requested and the patty was juicy and delicious. The rack of lambs were cooked to as requested again and were seasoned well and very juicy. The escargot were also very good. All in all, highly recommend.

We love the whole experience at Planchette! Great French Bistro vibe - starting with the accordion player seated near the entrance. The savory crepes are delicious- our party loved the “traditional”, the duck and the chicken crepes. My wife said her fish entree was one of the best she has tasted. Planchette is byob, which is a big plus.

Excellent food with a wonderful selection. Great service. Perfect live music. Loved the fact it was a byob. Seating was very cramped but we’ll be back regardless.

Lovely place. Nice atmosphere, good food and service. The accordion player on Friday night makes it feel like you are in Paris. For appetizers we had escargot and fried calamari, very tender. Beet salad was delicious. Our rack of lamb and seared tuna entrees were perfect. And the crepe filled with berries and topped with ice cream was a nice way to end a perfect dinner.Parking: Across the street and behind the buildings is a parking lot which is free in evenings.

Consistent excellent food in the heart of Ambler. Friendly service beautiful decoration and a feeling of intimacy of a Provence restaurant in France. The daily specials are very good and the choice of fish menu is fantastic. Gloria

Overall, a very good meal. We had to flag down the waiter to order and they never came by to see how things were going. However, food was solid. Octopus, tuna and burger were all well prepared and excellent. Escargot was a a disappointment both in size and taste. My wife's crepe was good. My onion soup did not have a beef broth and was ok and would not order again...just ok. The environment was great and the accordion was a plus. Still a solid option for Butler Avenue

We visited this past Saturday afternoon to explore crepe options nearby. We were disappointed in the service and communication from our waiter. The bread was cold and hard. The la viande crepe with duck was delicious. The grilled octopus had an odd taste. The fried calamari was average. We were also surprised by the price of the octopus compared to the portion. Overall, we did not have a good experience during our lunch here.

Great crepes, worth going there for those. Just OK dessert (I'll skip it next time).

Planchette is one of my favorite restaurants. It's loud and bustling on busy weekends with a relaxed casual atmosphere. And if you're lucky, you'll be there for their accordion player. Maybe not the best place for a quiet date night, but perfect for a fun evening with friends. And the food is fantastic. Straightforward and simple renditions of French comfort classics. Escargot, Croque Monsieur, Mussels, Steak Frites, Coq au Vin. All delicious and simply executed. I absolutely love their crepes, our favorite is the braised short rib. But on my last visit I tried the smoked trout and it was wonderful. And you also can't go wrong with their dessert crepes (banana Nutella is the best).

We were sat a makeshift table that was totally lost for service. The salad was a mere half a plate of arugula. I ordered a bronzino that they filleted in front of a table across the room and screamed across the restaurant at us if I wanted lemon. We were totally forgotten. Noise level was crazy high. There seemed to be no manager or host to assure proper service.

Very nice French themed atmosphere with posters and accordion player. Our waiter( I think Fernando) very professional and attentive. Lobster bisque appetizer very good. My French onion soup too bland. Wife's Mediterranean crepe was excellent and my mushroom and spare rib crepe was very good. Crème brûlée excellent and my cheesecake very good. Prices very reasonable. We will be going back soon.

Planchette Bistro & Creperie is a jewel among Ambler restaurants. The variety of seafood specials is extraordinary and their preparation is exquisite! During our Thursday evening dinner we enjoyed attentive food and BYOB wine service. The pan-seared salmon with garlic potato and a jalapenos honey glaze, grilled octopus and tuna steak are delicious. Overall Planchette presentation & service was on par with the better bistros & brasseries in Philly & New York We'll be back for their crepe specialties and music!
