Sweet Briar Cafe and Ice Cream

I stopped for ice cream with my mother who is 93 years old but we weren’t permitted to sit at the table in the shade. We were told that it is only if we ordered food. There was absolutely no one else there and so we had to leave. Very poor customer service. Will never go back!

Best breakfast in Montco, won’t entertain any other opinions. Seriously, the food at the Sweet Briar is amazing and the atmosphere is even better. Sometimes I literally dream of the Philly omelette and the Greek omelette. The ice cream is delicious and they always have fun specials, my daughter loves getting treats here. Staff and service is amazing, this place is truly a community gem.

Worst service I've ever experienced. Came for ice cream when it was 95+ degrees out and they said we could only sit at the metallic black tables they have in the sun, despite the fact that no one else was at the restaurant. Because that would have literally burnt us, when we tried to find a shady spot they threatened to call the police on us, making my 5 year old cry.

Edited as a response: in fact, we said we were happy to talk to the owner and then we heard the manager get back on the phone and tell the owner
we didn't want to talk. All I'm saying is a place that will make a 5 year old cry without any apology or remorse is not a place people should be taking their children (and I have no intention of returning to an establishment that treated us so atrociously).

We went for ice cream on a day that was 96° and were not allowed to be seated inside or at any table that had shade. We were asked to sit at a black metal table that was so hot as it would burn you. We asked several times including the manager nicely if we could sit somewhere inside or in shade and were refused. When my 5-year-old started crying because it was too hot at the sea. We moved under the shade and they called the police. There was not a single other customer at the restaurant at the time and we weren't taking seats from anyone. Even the police thought it was ridiculous when they came. This is maybe the worst customer service I've ever experienced. We'll never come back and you shouldn't either.

No chocolate shell.

I just got some take out, but everything about my experience was great and noteworthy.
Service is very friendly. The space is cute and intimate, with cozy vibes. I got their special breakfast burrito which was excellent. They do a changing tasting menu (4 courses) every first Tuesday of the month. I will certainly be back eventually (hopefully to make it this coming Tuesday for the tasting menu) even though I’m in center city.

The service was excellent the staff are very friendly the wait time was 15 to 20 minutes but we didn’t mind waiting and it was worth the wait because the food was delicious! My husband and I will definitely go again! I give this sweet and cute little place 5+ stars

Got 4 out-of-bag drinks for almost $30

Had a great mommy-daughter lunch! Great food, staff is efficient and responsive. And the kids menu worked well for my picky eater!

Kid-friendliness: Has a great kids menu great for picky eaters. They have plenty of booster seats and high chair. Food has a relatively fast turnaround. I would suggest ordering kids food with the drinks if you have antsy kids.

This business needs to update its hours. I just tried to take my child to lunch here and we were refused seating because they "close at 2pm on Sundays." The server suggested a takeout order instead. Either the hours are incorrect or we simply weren't the right clientele.

Really great little cafe, had the club sandwich and it was a perfect lunch. Staff were friendly, I'm already planning on coming back to try more of the menu and grab some ice cream.

Girl who saw me had a stank attitude, ice cream was gummy but not creamy - however I liked it more than my boyfriend - good family friendly environment
